Not much else can be done if the fluid level is correct, Is the check engine light on or D5 blinking ? Did you check the fluid level with the engine warmed up and off ?

Did you get a check engine light? Mine screwed up on me a couple weeks ago and I instantly got a CEL and TCS light and when I used the code reader I had the death code P7040

That's how it goes with these transmissions. Some give you warning signs and others don't. Mine worked perfectly fine with no symptoms one day and then it died the next day.

Get your codes read, but odds are with the symptoms you described your trans is toast

Get a code reader from someone, I think Autozone will loan them out for a deposit. If you get P7040 then start looking for another tranny. I'm in the same boat as you bro, it sux! Waiting on my replacement tranny which should be here Monday.

I'd do the AV6 swap if I was you.

I've been told Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market is a good place to find one.

It's a design flaw in the 2001-2005 transmissions, not only on Acura's but all cars (Honda) that used that transmission.

I'm not an expert but it's something about the 2nd and 3rd gear clutches not getting cooled enough or something like that.

In 2006 they redesigned the transmission even though the housing is the same and improved it greatly without as many problems.

Hope this helps......
