Gas mileage with new tranny

Just wondering if anyone else is getting lower gas mileage after having their transmission replaced, mine has dropped enough that i'm now using 1/3 of a tank for a trip that used to only take a 1/4 tank. If anyone has any thoughts or similar experiences please share...

At first I was getting less miles per gallon, but it was due to the winter gas formula. Now my mileage is back to normal - 24 to 27 on 80% highway driving.(it went out in December with 23,000 miles) I still experience what I call "stutter shifting" when I let off the gas between 40 and 55 mph. The tranny seems to down shift then up shift quickly. This usually happens whithin 10 minutes from a cold start. It may be the grade logic control - who knows. The dealer said they put in a new ECU with the tranny. Anybody else have this ?

my mileage did go up a bit with new tranny, but the car shifts through
the gears way too soon if I am driving easy. The damn car shouldn't be
in 5th at 40mph

hell no...my tranny will shift at about 76-78 km/h...ResidualFreedom (Pat) can vouch for me since he drove my car. It shifts at that speed. I think 76-78 km/h is about 48 MPH...

The new computers they install with the replacement tranny's are programmed not to hold the shifts as long - this I was told was to reduce strain on the tranny.
What that means to me is they are still applying band-aids and have not truly FIXED the problem.

I have no doubt this one will fail too, but then I will get a tranny from PTS or VR.

Can someone provide link information for these "PTS" and "VR" transmission units?

Thanks much!,
