Gas Mileage Mods

Gas Mileage Mods
Anyone do any mods that actually increase gas mileage? Under normal driving conditions, not tearing up the roads. I'd like to get some better gas mileage during the normal commute to work. What kind of mileage are people getting?

An intake or drop-in air filter will increase gas mileage since you'll be getting more air to the engine. K&N or Comptech make the filter, AEM or Injen are the popular CAIs. You could potentially see about 1-2mph increase... but that's if you don't go heavy on the gas which is hard to do... especially if you go the CAI route
FYI... I'm getting between 23 and 26mpg per tank depending how hard I drive. My commute is 34 miles each way... about 85% highway driving....

Yeah, I was talking about the intake. The K&N will increase mileage too. Keep in mind though that you will also notice the gas mileage improves as the car gets more broken in. At first I was around 26... then from around 300-700 I averaged under 23. After my first oil change and after teh 1000 mile break-in I did, I was around 23, then at 3000 I was up to 25. Now I'm steady in the 23-26 range. When I just cruise I'm at 25, but I'm usually on it several times which brings me down to 24ish....
