Re: G35 Coupe, 350Z Track, CL type S

1. This is a tough one. The G35 and the 350Z both use modified versions of Nissan's award winning engine so at this point I'd have to give the nod to Nissan. However, the TL/CL Type S engine isn't anything to scoff at either.

2. I've never sat in the 350Z or the G35 Coupe so I can't tell you specifically for those cars, but in my opinion the Nissan fit and finish just isn't up to par with Honda/Acura. A lot of people will disagree with me here though since many people with TL-S's have been hit with tons of rattles.

3. The CL Type S imho is a cool looking car, but the 350 Z wins hands down in looks. The G35 Coupe looks pretty nice too (sortof like the 350Z really)... But either way the 350Z or G35 Coupe wins imho.

4. Speed has to goto the 350Z, the CL Type S is fast but it isn't going to be faster than the 350Z ... The G35 Coupe would fall somewhere in between.

5. A CL-S 6 speed is going to have a pretty good tranny, and hopefully the 2003 CL-S automatics are fixed ... It remains to be seen how reliable the G35 Coupe and 350Z's trannys are because they're both new cars. Expect more problems with the 350Z / G35 Coupe than the CL Type S since they're both first year cars and the CL-S has been in production for 3 years or more if you count non Type-S models.

6. Never used the Nissan NAVI system, but the Acura NAVI system is rated right up there with Lexus as being one of the best on the market. I have the same system in my TL-S and I gotta say it is very user friendly, easy to understand, and great for driving around in new areas...

7. If you mean tires, the CL-S comes with pretty crappy tires, so I'd give advantage to the 350Z or the G35 Coupe (not sure which is better here though)

8. Never drove in a 350Z or G35 Coupe but I'd imagine the Track version of the 350Z would have a better suspension than all the cars.

9. In terms of overall class and luxury, the G35 Coupe and CL Type-S are ahead here ... the 350Z is really a Sports car, not a luxury car.

In terms of most bang for your buck, imho the CL Type-S 6-speed is going to be ahead of both the G35 Coupe and the 350Z ... All 3 are well priced cars though ...

Anyways, if you're planning on buying one of these 3 cars, I highly recommend you test drive all 3 of them ... Figure out which one you'd enjoy driving first. Being comfortable driving the car is more important than some of the other things you're considering here.

I can't see you going wrong with any of those cars! I love the way the G looks and then maybe the Z, but more so because I've grown used to the look of the CLS. I think the CLS is an awesome car but Nissan has done some good things this past year with the introduction of the G coupe and Z. Lets see if Acura can respond. While you're at it thorw in the 330CI in the mix as well. Just Awesome cars, all four!

1. Engine - Nissan/Infiniti
2. Interior - Acura
3. Exterior - Nissan/Infiniti
4. Speed - Nissan
5. Tranny- Acura... NOT!!!
6. Navi - Acura
7. Wheels- Nissan/Infiniti
Overall, i would get the g35 if you want class, 350z if you want a sports car.

None: EVO 7 under 30K plus add a few mods with leftover $$$ = V-8 domestic shocker.

Track model gets 18 inch Rays rims, Brembo brakes, stiffer suspension with bigger sway bars.

hmmm..I thought I read that all the Z's got the same suspension? Maybe I'm wrong. One thing to consider is practicality...z has 2 seats, the CLS and G25 have 4. That might be an issue for some. Overall, OEM wheels are never too exciting except for in Bimmers, so I wouldn't use that to compare. OEM wheels + winter wheels in my book. As for engines, I'd say they are pretty close. As for Tranny's, I have no idea. Honda is known for great manuals, Nissan isn't. But reviewers like the Z's tranny feel, so again, i would say they are close. On style, that is subjective, but I like the interior and exterior styling of the CLS MUCH better than either Nissan. Especially the interior.

no luxory, but an Evo with a boost controlller will bewaiving bye bye to a lot of GS400's, TLS's CLS's, all Nissan products, S4's and even some M3's.

Liqice, Thanks bro. Got some ideas now!
Ill try test driving them this weekend & let you guys know.
I just don't want to buy one & then regret it in 2 months. The reason i'am afriad of the cl is that i have heard alot of upgrades for 04 so there is no reason to get a 03 & feel stupid.

CLS and G35 will have better fit and finish, Z is the best raw sports car.

Depends on your priorities and the weather where you drive (RWD sucks in rain and snow)
