FYI 2000 TL high mileage parts replacement list

Note: avatar shows my other car, a CL.
Just for the fun of it below is a list of everything I had to replace over ten years and 272K miles of use, excluding normal wear items like wiper blades, batteries, tires, etc. Some of the more relevant wear items I did list.
Trading her in this week.

IAC valve
both rear sway bar links
left rear door handle assembly
one tranny
drive axles
windshield
driver's seat heating element
alternator
front and pass. side motor mounts
front bumper cover, painted
all struts
O2 sensors, both
That's it!

Here are some of the items that made it no problem:

engine
exhaust system ( cat made it too)
braking system (except pads of course)
interior-everything
radiator
starter
steering rack
headlights
electrical system

Timing belt and W pump done twice at 105K and 230K miles.

So overall I was really happy, a very dependable automobile.

That's a very short/inexpensive list. So far I'm up to motor mounts, driver seat heater, and the purge control solonoid cuz of the loud ticking. 03 with 108k. Timing belt also done at 98k and 1 free tranny.

Was used as a highway car for work, a sales route. Mile after mile it didn't need much!

Same here, I drive about 150 miles a day highway commuting to work. Nice to know they hold up well and require very little besides the basic maintainence.

Driver's side I took the seat out and took it apart, one wire going to the element is too small and burns thru, so I just cut it out and used a bigger diameter wire, fixed! Somewhere there is a thread on doing this job.

Nope, two bolts on front floor area, two in rear area, they hold down the "legs". Then you will see two or three connectors, just unplug them. They are for the heated seats and power seat motors. I'd say wait for a warmer day!

I got mine in April 2000 and here is my list:

Both Rear Sway Bar Links
EGR Valve Replacement with Motovac
Rear muffler flanges were rotted due to the road salt over 10 winters, so I had new flanges welded on instead of replacing the whole exhaust system
Sensor for the factory car alarm
1 tranny
Autodim mirror ( friggin mirror leaked fluid , but no real damage though )

I wish I did my swap later so I could see how long the motor and all the parts could last but unfortunately the transmission went out and I figured it was efficient to swap out everything under the hood.

That's awesome though OP.

my list consists of a tranny or 5 endlinks, ps pump, and ac compressor (all came after the 6 speed swap other than the trannies, and ac compressor which happened around 20k miles)

my 00 is at 145k now and we replaced the trans at 142k ish. it's been in our family for 10 years and will probably be for another couple years since we spent a fortune for the trans couple months ago.

i never imagined i would be driving this car 10 years later after my dad first got it but i'm glad i was able to experience this car when it was brand new (too bad i coudlnt drive it but i still remember it when it was brand new)

I totally forgot to add that I had to swap out all the ignition coils back in spring 2009 after the car was backfiring. I just decided to swap out all the coils as opposed to just replacing the faulty one.
