Fuel Injector help.
Took my fuel injectors out wanting to replace the o-rings, this is what my cylinder 1 injector looks like.
Does this look normal to you?
All of my injectors look like this, the base is not whole and seems like various amounts broke off or chipped off?

Hey Kc1337, sorry man....but I don't see anything.
Have you been having problems with the injectors prior to removing them ? I would'nt think that "normally" there should be anything that appears to be broken or chipped, unless somebody has tampered with them !

I've seen this ONLY once. It was on an Expedition that was backfiring/misfiring due to timing issues and the immense heat from combustion chamber was re-entering the intake manifold runner melting the tips of most injectors.
If you haven't ever had any severe timing issues or misfires caused by ignition/fuel problems, I'd suspect a previous owners neglect or misfortune.

That sounds like misfiring, yes. Have you ever heard backfiring or popping noises coming from your engine compartment? Also, how long has this been occurring? If its been a long term issue, misfires can literally cause your catalytic converters to become plugged up thus restricting exhaust flow and this would (in some instances) force the high exhaust pressures back up through the lower pressure intake runners on the preceding stroke. But this is generally accompanied by light to heavy backfires...
