Question Have ya tried this lately.....?

This assumes that the pads move freely in their mounts, and that the caliper slide pins/bolts are lubed and and moving freely as well. If the caliper releases when you open the bleeder, you've got a hydraulic problem; typically the brake hose.

Hey BoriTL, seems like something has been overlooked along the way.

Get back to the basics. If the only problem is with the front driver's caliper sticking and you've apparently replaced every available part with new.....{(pads, caliper a couple times, fluid many times, rotor, bracket and retaining/mounting hardware, pin & bolt, brake hose line, anti-seize lube and more fluid to fully bleed system again)}. What's left ???

I think you should take back the caliper you have and get a "semi-loaded", or "friction-ready" caliper. This will have the mounting bracket, hardware, clips, pins, etc, and will be rust free, and properly lubed. Typically you should add a small amount of lube where the pads touch the abutment clips. This has got to solve your problem or else you've left out, or given some incorrect info. Or you have got the worst source on the planet for calipers!

I took the caliper back! Not even going to bother trying to put it in yet. Replacing the hoses is the only thing left, might as well since changed everything else. Hopefully that will solve the issue, they should be in a couple days.

Would the lines really have such an effect?? wouldn't it be noticeable when your bleeding them if you had a line issue

You might notice restricted flow, but often times they'll bleed just fine. However, when you open the bleeder, whatever pressure a hose is holding back will be released immediately. I thought you already tried this. If a hose cures this, I gotta believe the bleeder was plugged up completely, and not releasing pressure.

So changed the hoses and still having the same issue. One side stays locked, I free that side up with a flathead and the other locks up right away. Any ideas? Extremely exhausted dealing with something that should have been so easy.

I really wish I'd explained the difference between a bare caliper and a loaded one earlier. I think that's your problem. Slides, pad mounts, I don't know. What's left? A loaded caliper(or friction ready) eliminates everything except the hydraulics.

Friend mentioned proportional valve but didn't find much info on it online. Any ideas?

My idea is to forget about the hydraulic part of the brake system. You ruled that out when the caliper still dragged with the bleeder open. Unless I missed something, you still don't have the reman brackets, new pins, hardware, etc. that come with a friction-ready or loaded caliper.

New hardware came with the calipers only thing not replaced are the brackets. Find it weird that one locks up, I free that one and than it looks the free one up.

Do the brake pads float freely within the caliper's retaining brackets ?
It could be that as your problem persists, that the pads are not fitting well and binding. How were the old original pads wearing previously ???

I could flick the pads and they fall out. The drivers side pad was way more worn than drivers with the old calipers. The new ones came with all new hardware.

Not sure if it matters after i bleed the pedal its pretty solid, but once i turn on the car to see if the calipers are sticking, it turns spongy.

You probably have some air in the system. Go out and do a few stops on gravel and get the abs to engage a few times. Then rebleed. I don't see how this will affect your brake dragging though. At this point, I think you need professional help. Find a good independent shop as opposed to a dealer or franchise/chain.

Your missing something. Maybe its time to get some pro help.

Between the calipers, brake lines and numerous times bleeding your system you should have great brakes already.

Something i've done numerous times on other cars and had no issues until the TL. Frustrating busting my butt to get a car i really wanted and having a stupid issue like this. I've had the car more in repair than actually driving it.

Any ideas?? i'm about ready to throw in the towel. Have replaced, brakes, brakes lines, calipers, brake hardware, and rotors but yet i still have one of the front tires stay locked. I've bleed the crap out of it both methods with 1 man tool and having the wife pump pedal but still no luck. Honda buddies tell me Proportion valve could be screwed up but no info online of this happening to anyone previously. any help is greatly appreciated. Trying to avoid hiring someone as can't afford right now.

Hey BoriTL, ya gotta be thankful for having a wife with patience to help.
But, there's a point when you've spent more on parts and time than what the inconvenience is worth. All I can say is go back and look at the original problem and attempt to step through the process one last time and then ya may have no choice but to hand the job over ??? Sorry, IDK.
