Front end noises on 99 TL with 120k miles
Would anyone like to comment if they have had engine &/or tranny mounts replaced on their Acura TL? My symptoms now are squeak/pop upon acceleration, shifting & going over bumps & rough surfaces. I'm wondering about a good way to diagnose and what should I be expecting to pay if engine/tranny mounts?
I've been driving for 40 years and owned probably 20 cars & I've only replaced one motor mount - on this same TL a couple of years ago. Mounts should not be a maintenance item - especially on cars of this caliber.
Are there any good DIY threads around on this?
Thanks.

gonna burst your high caliper car bubble:
the front motor mount goes out after 50-60kmiles
Usually found with warranty trans install and cheap to do with trans removed
part is 120-150 dollars- trick fluid filled unit, and vac assisted!
figure 2 hours labor with trans installed (.3 hour if trans removed)
do a search for motor mounts for more info and pics- test procedures are like any motor mount
visual the front and rear for oil traces leaking out
Pass side mount is next to fail after front.. as it takes extra loading
50 for the part half hour to install

Always Working In
Side to side motions in your front end may be due to any of the following: ball joints, cv axle, tie rods, loose or worn bolts, bushings. It could be a number of things. Visually inspect all boots on the bj's and the axles. Check for play in balls by jacking up the front end and pulling at the wheel in a 12 n 6 o'clock and a 3 n 9 o'clock fashion.
