Foglight mod

After doing the foglight modification, I've noticed that when I arm/disarm the alarm, the foglights flash too if the foglight switch is in the on position. Will this significantly shorten the life of the foglight bulb?

Hard to say. Some say that constant flashing of a bulb not designed to do so will shorten its life, but that's never been conclusively proven. Remember, if it is a concern for you just shut off the fog lights when you turn off the car and they won't flash. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the info. By the way, I followed your instructions and it was a piece of cake. Total time it took me was about 15 minutes.

The foglight mod was done on a '03 TL-S. It was easier than I thought it would be.

Its Ok!

bringing back the ol' forum... basically.. nothing should happen if ur bulbs flash considering highbeams work similar as well as of course... when ur FACTORY ALARM GOES OFF (i'm not sure if any of you have experienced iot.. its nasty) .. cuz it sounds the alarm and the lights (hids) flash as well as the FOGS... which is crazy since i thought flashing hids would be bad but since the factory alarm does it. .i figure its ok..

i have hids in my fogs and its even a killer because one day my stupid co worker decided to open my car door from the inside after tellin me to arm the car and it flashed both my hid fogs as well as the factory low beam hids and man. i felt the pain .. i thoguht all my hids were gonna blow but its working fine. ..

just wanted to clear that up. *this is if u leave the fogs on while the factyory alarm goes off*

Is there a DIY for this fog light mod? I've searched and came up with some threads, but with missing pics. I'm looking to have my fogs on without the headlights, it would be nice to have them on without the headlights AND parking lights, but either way would be nice.
