Foglight Lens Cracked and Xpel??

Ok, as many of you know I upgraded to 6000k fogs, and while doing the install I noticed a crack in the fog light lens. Now, I did a search and the two solutions were, Lexan Glass and Xpel. Unless u want to replace the whole Fog Light Assembly, which it looks like to me, that Acura has jacked up the price since they know that they manufactured a ****ty lens and wanna capatilize on it now since everyone's fogs are cracking.

I would like to know how many people have Xpel on their cars and any problems with it? Also for those of you who had a crack in the lens can you put the xpel stuff right over it instead of replacing the lens? I wanna try to do this, this weekend since the weather is going to be good in NY.

I have a whole in my driverside fog and have been thinking about this for a while. I'm going to ride out the winter with the hole and replace it with some Lexan. I still plan to get Xpel for the headlights though.
The thing about the Xpel is that they have that guarantee, etc. I have only heard of people being succesful with their claims to Xpel. I don't know anyone personally though.
The way I figure it, the stock fog lens is glass...in time it'll break again. And Acura charges way to much to replace the unit.

The claims to xpel sucks. Cuz from what I understand you gotta claim the damage under warranty and then they will re-imburse you. Now why would you claim 200 bux on insurance? For most of that wont even do us any good since our dedubtalbe start at 250 and up, unless you have a 0 deductable. Get what i mean? The xpel stuff is just for protection, for 15 bux not bad.

I just replaced my fogs lense with the Lexan. It took me a total of aprox. 1.5 hrs of manual labor (not including dry time) and total price for the all materials, etc. = aprox. $8 I like the Lexan better that the Acura glass.

Where do you get Lexan and can you help and tell me what kind of manual labor you had to do besides installing the lens?

NYDesi80, oh ok. I guess that's another neg check on xpel.
goldendragon576, I think someone mentioned something about getting Lexan at a hobbystore. I've seen sheets of Lexan by my Home Depot, but didn't like the quality of it. I'm still in the market for Lexan as well.

I thought Home Depot was it, and how do you test for quality?

Well, I didn't exactly test it for quality. The few sheets I saw were scratched and faded. Not to my liking, so I didn't buy any. I would think a hobby store would keep their lexan a little cleaner. So I'll have to get my butt over to the hobby store.

speaking of fog lenses, how much do you trust water not getting into the case? cuz when you look at the metal edges around the glass, there's still this crack or space btwn the glass and metal. would it be a good idea to fill up that space with some clear silicone?
