Fog

Hi all, I have just purchased a pair of fogs but have already connected all the wires but one, the wire that requires power from the ignition ( whenever the ignition is on the power runs through)... The question is... where do I connect this wire? I've opened up the fuse box on the driver's side and did know where or which one to connect to... Can someone help a fellow TL'er out? thanks.

fuse

I installed my radar detector the same way, If I remember right I used the 8th fuse on the right, (drivers side fuse cluster), do a search on radar detector installation and you should find your answer...good luck ..UWgrad

why do you have an ignition wire??? are you sure its not a parking lamp wire? because if its hooked up to the parking lamps then they should automatically shut off with the parking lamps when you turn them off from the light stalk or take your key out of the ignition

They do. Usually 20A to be safe. Hopefully your set-up has some kind of relay to switch the high power to the fogs independant of the switch. Usually, the battery is hooked up direct to the relay, and the relay goes to the fogs on the high side (20A). There's also a low side (1A) that goes to the switch. So you can power the switch from a 3A circiut. When you throw the switch on, it activates the relay which then closes the high side circuit and sends the power to the fog lights.

If your set-up has the fog lights wired directly from the switch with no relay in between then you need to rethink where you tap into with the switch.
