For those of you who financed, did anyone get the 300 tag fee waived? It seems to me that there is no reason to pay this, I'll do it my damn self. any input?

If I answered that I have no idea what fee you're talking about... would that help?
Seriously, I have no idea what you're talking about. I paid no fees for anything other then destination, taxes and tags...which are all the usual fees. If they're hitting you up for some sort of documentation fee, it's bullsh!t. Tell them to drop the fee or you'll buy the car from somewhere else. If they don't drop it.... walk.

I am in the same boat as juniorbean. I also had them knock off the price of tax and tags. So even though I am paying it, I'm using their money. I also turned around and refinanced the car through my credit union too a week later!

registration of my vehicle... the getting of tags also.
My salesman told me that he could not waive the fee for the tags... a 300 dollar hit. His reason, because I financed the car i could take my registration to the DMV and not show that their is a lien on my car. I called the title clerk at there office and she didn't call back, but i learned that they are not allowed to talk to customers(through the saleman)
Basically I have this:
base price + options + destination+ taxes + (tags = 300)
can that be waived and i take care of that myself.

Almost Never...
I used to work as a Loan Officer at a Credit Union. I have never in my life seen someone get the tag fees waived by the dealer. This is standard, you MUST pay for registration. The previous reasons are correct, you could get the DMV to issue tags w/o leinholder, then it would just cause you months (and I mean months) of BS and problems. From your bank, ins co, and the DMV.
I'd just pay it and don't worry about it. It's not going to be any cheaper if you walk into the DMV yourself and pay for the registration (tags). Well....in CALI I only paid $250 for my tags 3 weeks ago.
hope this helps.
