atlp is like comptech or apexi ws2 or greddy and so on. just a company that makes exhaust systems

What are the two things in between the cat and the mufflers, one looks like a muffler and one looks like a swollen section of the B pipe. Would we loose these and would there be a substitute? Thanks

That would be a resonator. Depending on how much louder it is, we can decide to include or not include one.

this is just gathering interests...
i needed to see if people would actually be interested before we actually make one.

I think people are just due to the fact of limited systems for our car. Getting one made with a tone that most prefer would be really nice.

would work if people actually said wat they prefered or want for a sound, im thinkin maybe we can have a sound just like or similar to the 3rd Gen ATLP exhaust.. but thats me...

What most seem to want is the G35 sound, or a nice deep tone, but dont want the drone that usually comes with exhaust on the TL

i was talking about height
g35=sex, but how about a note lower on the scale? i think that would be perfect, i also wouldnt mind hearing my exhaust while im in vtec

i would be interested if this fit a 2G CL-S... perfect size is 2.5" midpipe to 2.25" axlebacks... btw someone posted oval style borla tips... here is what they look like on my CL...

oh yea, and you will DEF need a good resonator, i'm running 2 bullet style resonators and it still resonates pretty heavily.

Probably not going to happen. The min you get loud enough for that you have a good amount of resonance.

what exactly creates the resonance. I mean if you use bigger piping, different mufflers etc, what causes the sound/ vibration and how is it minimized without sacrificing too much gain?

I like the idea of Hflow cat then 1 large to 2 smaller but large than stock with its own resonator on each line. if we substituted a muffler where that back muffler is, would that cut droning?

larger the piping = more resonance.

Im in if the price is reasonable..I've been wanting to get a little more power/torque and an increase in sound on mine.

would we not be able to change the tone and resonance of the exhaust by bending the piping?

By bending what? Its not the pipe that makes the resonance, its the exhaust sound that makes the drone(what those call resonance)
Mine still has it, and all my bends are different. with much different pipe. Resonance is mostly due to the motor itself and the exhaust pulses from the exhaust (head/port design im guessing) The best way to change the sound is alot of trial and error with resonators and mufflers. Im still planning on changing mine again to help change the sound. Its pretty much perfect now other than the rasp at a certain throttle/rpm. Im thinking a resonator or pair of resonators may clear that up and make it a little more subdued where the quiet tips can come out

i figured it worked along the same principal as piped instruments, i know for a fact that variating the path in which the sound travels changes the tone and pitch of the final note. IE:zig zag piping may help with the deeper acoustics and reduce higher pitch sounds, the integrity of the metal also helps with vibration.

but i could be wrong...

you want the piping to be mandrel bent, i.e. same diameter the whole way. again, 2.5" mid to 2.25" axlebacks... a good resonator and good set of mufflers and there will be no drone. like someone said, trial and error.

You are right, but fewer exhaust bends=more power

sound close to the g35 would be awesome as it doesn't attract too much attention from cops.

not necessarily, if the pipes are mandrel bent and have the correct amount of curves to create the correct acoustics we may be able to use a wider diameter piping to increase power.
more bends could equal more torque, and we all need that

Bends slow the flow. Mandrel or not. I for get what it was for sure but its something like 1 90deg bend is the equivalent of 8 feet of pipe

torque wold be so minimal you wouldnt gain any thing usable. Want torque with this motor, go FI

Actually, on an ideal system you want less bends for more hp/tq. Both factors are driven by the velocity of the gases. Creating more restrictions (bends, diameter changes) in turn creates more turbulence and results in a lower velocity. So in all, you want a correctly sized, consistent tubing throughout the entire exhaust system.

more than half of the backpressure that the motor needs is created by the headers and collector. a properly designed exhaust system, the headers/collectors provide 100% of all the back pressure needed and the cat converter all the way back is just for sound/emissions.

thanks guys, i have always wondered how that would work.
do you guys measure exhaust notes on a musical scale?

lol. i ask because we can use a tuner to measure the note that the G35 hits and create the EXACT sound....

I can vouch for Mike 100%
Great quality product!! I love my exhaust:

This guy did a good job capturing the sound on video but still doesnt do the exhaust justice lol. Enjoy:::
