FED UP WITH CRAPPY PAINT JOB, Will my insurance cover any of this?

alright guys, i got a deal on my car and i think it was a good purchase, but looking at this forum has really raised my standards and im beginning to get frustrated with the appearance of the crappy paint repairs that the previous owner FAILED at. i want to know if i can claim any of this with my insurance company and get it fixed. OR even better, anyone in the ATl area want to show me how to fix it mself? or do it for a deal? id rather give you guys some money than file a claim. here are the pics

I JUST REALIZED I HAD THIS ONE!!^^^

Unfortunately, your insurance won't cover that type of problem.

this really sucks, and what frustrates me the most is that the previous owner used the wrong touch up paint, so its mad off. alot of the front bumber seems to be raod damage, doesnt that fall under comp?

you should have seen the front before i tackled it with goo gone to get all the dead bugs off, and other cars paint and rock debris. i also used some compound to get some more off and then used some carnuba wax and it looked nicer, but once the wax dissapears it looks like that

That really sucks. I guess you could tell your insurance company that you were in a parking lot and came back out and the rub marks were there but thats kinda risky.

yea man thats bad, I was thinking if I decide to keep the car, to get a new bumper cuz mine is also a little cracked so I would respray the hood, front and rear bumpers and maybe fenders but I am not sure about that. Fenders just to kind of even out the new and old paint so its nto realy noticable.the previous owner was an idiot, he didnt take car of the car at all. to get the paint to look decent again I will have to dish out 400$ to get it polished and clayed and all that shit. but for the winter I am keeping it like this.

Not a chance. Comprehensive insurance covers you for things like fire and theft.

Here's a typical description, found via Google:

This coverage reimburses you for loss due to theft or damage caused by something other than a collision with another car or object, such as fire, falling objects, missiles, explosion, earthquake, windstorm, hail, flood, vandalism, riot, or contact with animals such as birds or deer.

It doesn't cover lousy bodywork.

what you wanna do is piss off some drug dealers, then park your car in their neck of the woods. they'll vandalize it and then insurance will get you :P

oh and does anyone know how much a typical paint job costs? i had a friend's shop paint my rear when it got hit, he said he'll do my entire car for 1400, usually 2200 but cause we're friends. another friend of mine tho got his IS300 molested by losers, so insurance covered 6500 of his 8000 white diamond pearl paint job O.o

or in stead of pissing of some drug dealers and possibly getting killed, you can pay your friends to vandalize it and collect insurance money that way. I know a guy who let his friend steal his car and burn it and he go paid.

You used Goo Gone? That stuff will eat through your finish.

Looks like a lot of the scratches on the bumper are the result of multiple bad parking manuevers.

yea, seems like the previous owner thought that she had to hit the other cars in order to park correctly.

lol I didn't say it was a good idea. And by the way, I said the car would be in a parking lot and he came out and saw it, not an intersection.

I'm sure we've all done our share on this topic... Here in NJ, insurance is crazy high!!! You pay all that money to have it insured and get nothing in return. But get into an accident with insurance and your premium goes up regardless... Wheres the justice in that.... Insurance is "in case of", but if nothing happens, GIVE ME MY MONEY BIOTCH!!!!!!!!!! lol!

it is monopolistic, i think that the government should provide insurance, you know, since they require it.

how is it monopolistic when you have competing insurance companies servicing the same regional areas?

Can you name one country that provides free national auto healthcare?

why do i click on these threads?
