Faulty NAVI startup anyone?

A couple times when I have started the car, the NAVI screen stays off. I turn the car off and then back on and then it comes on? It's happened 3 times in the last few months? Anybody else experience this?

The NAVI never shuts itself off after it has been on, just when I start the car sometimes. Hmmm.

i only had this happened to be once when I was circling around the block downtown and then circled up the parking garage. I think the height of the close tall building somehow blocked the satellite signals and I got a gray screen. I didnt restart it. I just drove, and as soon as the signal is strong, the screen came back.

You probably just experienced a rare lockup. The navi will continue to work with no satellite contact, as the system relies far more heavily on dead reckoning than GPS coordinates. The GPS/satellite updates are more for occasional minor corrections of positional drift than actual location plotting.

CJITTY, I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes more and more common. You may want to pull the disc and clean it, as a dirty disc might keep the system from reading it on start-up.

So far I have seen it twice on my 02TLS. I believe it is a minor bug on the Navi system and I could live with it.

Cheers !!!
