Fastest Craziest TL-P I've Ever Been In.
I've just had one of the weirdest things happen to me today. I find a AEM CAI for my girlfriends CL-P on craigslist for 50 bucks, its practically brand new and comes with a Bypass Valve already attached with a new AEM filter and all hardware. What a great deal so I jumped on it. Well im talking with this guy on the phone and hes telling me about his crazy "race car" TL-P with a 2000 dollar exhaust system. Im thinking this is just a bunch of bs why would you put 2000 dollars into a exhaust on a TL-P. so I get to his house and we go into the back and im looking at a silver 2002 TL-P that he claims runs 11.5 and he has time slips to prove it.
Here I am in total disbelief and I demand he shows me his engine bay and the rest of the car.
He had a full brake setup, im guessing Rotora BBK along with with those BFG street drag radials, the ones that come stock on the SRT-4. He tells me to look down under the car and check out his exhaust, its a fully customized exhaust with a electronic cutout and custom long tube headers. He pops the hood and I see the J32A1 base model engine with NO supercharger or turbo kit, HOW COULD THIS THING POSSIBLY RUN 11.5?!?! He had no A/C or power steering, a custom made intake that was VERY thick in size. He than told me that he had custom cams and the motor was bored to 4.0L and he had a Level 10 automatic transmission. He opened the door and the car was totally gutted with racing seats/harness'
He had a APEXi VTEC controller? not sure what model but it was there. He dyno'ed 356 to the wheel and 405 with a ZEX nitrous kit, he didn't tell me what kind of shot he was running but the bottle was huge and it had a warmer on it.
He finally asked me for a ride and I was glad I toke up the offer, words cant explain how fast this car was, he gate shifted the entire time and the car just pulled so hard and it was the meanest sound i've ever heard come from a car. He got to 110 so fast before he had to stop in an empty residential area. IT felt like my friends 500whp twin turbo G35.
The thing that ruined it was that I left my phone in my CL-S so I have no pictures or a video of the run he took me on down the block. Im gonna have to give him a call sometime so I can check out his ride again...

That's what I said about 5 times during the whole conversation. Oh and btw he let me sit in the driver seat and rev the motor and let me say, it revved so fast like nothing was holding it back. I've driven a LOT of exotic cars including multiple NSX's and Porsche's and they didn't rev up that quick (I work at wheel works in San Francisco) I can't say too much about the sound though. He had the cutout closed the entire time and it was SOO loud and raspy.

Maybe you could stroke it to a larger displacement with an RL crank or something. But 4.0L? That's insane.... I don't see how its possible either.

Hes FULL OF SHIT! you cant bore out the cyls to get a 4 liter. We simply dont have enough material to bore it that much. I know that there is no room to bore out the J32 block... Even 1mm. Complete BS

Also if you read, they re-sleeve the motor to increase bore. Even doing so on the TL im not sure there is enough space between the cyls to gain enough to get to that displacement? aslo look at the cost. doing so custom 1 off for the TL would be more than what that kit for the nsx is

I knew this was comming lol.... what do you suggest I do guys? call him up and ask if I can take some pictures than leave lol? we bs'ed for about an hour last night I don't think theres anything else to talk about lol.

wow...interesting story.
With such a heavy car, it will probably need more whp and more torque to run an 11.5. Evos with less whp/wtq barely can hit a mid 11 and they have awd to help them get a great 60 foot.

Guys Honestly, what will pictures prove??? It wont prove any thing that he claims to have done to make his car a 4 liter or that fast. And i agree with what blk2001tlon19s said.
Now maybe a video of him running down the strip may make a difference but i still call :BS:
