Fast Setting for Wiper Speed on TLs 2003

Wierd thing about my wipers.
Got caught in a real heavy rain yesterday.
I turned my wipers from the intermittent setting to the continuous slow speed setting. I was still having problems clearing the windshield of rain so I turned it to the continuous fast speed. To my surprise, there was no noticeable change in speed from continuous slow to continuous fast.

I have searched the threads in case I was missing some technical info but I still can't figure it out.

Do I have faulty wiper system that needs repair?

thx

Try putting the wipers on position II, the wipers should go at a constant speed, not too fast, but not too slow, then put it at Position III, if you see no difference in speed, then there is definitely something wrong with your wiper system.

I can definitely tell when I'm on the fast or slow speed.

get that checked out...good luck

I know exactly what you mean, and it's normal. I don't know why they made it that way, but it's no big deal. Just go up another speed if need be.

Yes our wipers are speed sensitive, so on whatever setting you put it on, they adjust speed of wipes based on your speed. You should be able to dell the difference between the positiions of II and III if not, there is somethign wrong.

Another cool thing is when you have your wipers on in the I position on the slowest speed setting, every time you release your foot off the brake from a stop you get one wipe of your wipers!!
