Failure to start Question

This happened once before but its now happened 3 times in 2 days. I thought it might have been crap gas but I know its not this time. Full tank of Shell 91oct today and yesterday it was Sunoco 93.

It simply doesnt want to run when I start it. Its almost like back in the carburated days when the carb would flood. It starts but but runs rough and idles at or below 500rpm and giving it gas causes it to stall or it just stalls on its own. It takes 2 or 3 attempts and it finally starts.

Guess I'll have to take it in but you guys have any ideas as to what it might be?

Cheers

Maybe dirty fuel injectors...try some fuel injector cleaners (STP Fuel Injector Cleaner, Chevron Techron)....

Also, if you have a '99, there were a couple recalls that could explain the failure to start problem you are having.

Yes its a 99. I purchased the car last May, I thought all recalls were done at that time. Maybe something has been issued since but I havent got anything in the mail? I'll try the injector cleaner since I dont have the time to take it in for a few more weeks.
Appreciate the feedback! thanks
It did it again today! Could it be the Gas cap?

Do you hear a slight "hissing" of air when you open the gas cap? If so..that means your gas cap is working fine.

Same thing happened with my 03. it happened twice in one week where it took 3-4 turns to start. that was a month ago and now it's running like normal, knock on wood. no idea of the cause. have been noticing more posts on this problem on the forum.

I also have a '99, mine hasnt ever stalled, but it has came close. Especially in the winter. It will start and drop to like 500 rpm shudder for a second, then it will be ok....Its hard to be critical of a '99, but if it wouldnt start I would be annoyed.
