factory alarm - auto door lock

Is there a way to have the car auto doorlock with factory alarm when you turn on the engine or put the car in drive?? I heard a lot of stories where you stop at a red light/stop sign and someone just come up to your car and open the door and rob you.. Locking it would be a small deterence measure....because the damn car doesn't auto-lock, sometimes (a lot of times) I forgot to do so.

I've asked about this earlier and I don't think this issue was ever solved. I know that power door lock relays exist...just need to figure out a way to tie it in to the stock alarm so that when you turn your car on, the doors will lock and unlock when you shut it off. A Helm's manual would be real nice right about now...

Well a quick fix for you could be an aftermarket alarm because all aftermarkets do that or try askin an alarm installer if there is a module you could buy and fix to your factory alarm...you never know! good luck!

IMO that was a huge oversight on the part of Acura to not incorporate the autolock feature into the factory alarm. Even my Chrysler had that functionality, you just had to read about it in the manual and bring it back to the dealer to have it enabled with their diagnostic computer. I asked Acura whether that was the case for the factory alarm here as well and they said no.

as far as auto lock ....im sure you can just just tap the signal from the d5 indicator light which will give you a pulse to a relay which will lock your doors when you drive .....but why not just get into the habit of locking ur doors n putting on your seat belt when u first get in.....do you forget to wipe after you do your bizznizz ?

Not as simple as you think.. tapping into the d5 will continously pulsing the door lock relay thus continously forcing the lock over and over again (like you kept on hitting the lock switch even though it is already locked)...Say you drive 8 hrs..hitting/pulsing the lock continously 8 hrs might burn some sh*ts.
