exhaust tips
Is there a big change after getting those tips i see for sale on this site, because i'm planning to get some, and i want to know if it's worth spending the money on?
#2
Do you have a body kit? If you do, I would get them. If not, don't get them...the tips fit flush with the kit and looks great (for $50, I can't complain) but they will stick out when installed on a TL with no kit.
search some pics to see.

Re: exhaust tips
Hey I got the tips last week and I put them on with ease. I don't have a back lower spoilet or bumper kit but the tips look great. At first I thought they stuck out a little and looked funny but the more I looked at it and because of people's complements I changed my mind. Now I love it, it looks great specially from behind (if you're eating my dust) j/k

i remember when getting bolt on tips on your car was a big no-no... it use to be like asking real racers "please rape my car cuz i have tips to "pose" like i have real exhaust system"... when your car looks like it has exhaust but doesn't make the distinctive sound it should make, it makes you nothing but a poser.... but that was back then... the tips they sell here looks pretty subtle, not too big yet different from stock.. but i surely don't know what you (rayman) meant by "big change"

why waste your money and get tips . .. its kinda nasty if u have a tip and not get the muffler along with it . . . IMO i wouldnt do it . . . but then if you just goin for looks and dont want the sound then i guess the tips will work . . . just my opinion . . no offense

Most people won't even notice the difference since it is such a subtle change. I think it looks slightly more muscular and "finished" than the stock ones without looking like you went to PEP Boys and bought an oversized one.
And for $50, why not?
My $0.02.

I disagree. I have the tips and I don't have a body kit and I think they look great. The biggest reason is that the 3A tips from this site go all the way back to the muffler as opposed to the stock tips that expose a bit of the tail pipe. They're not that big so you don't look like a "poser" as someone else mentioned.

Your right, it does look much better then the tiny stock tips. It is a subtle yet a much better looking tip....with or without the kit. I just wasn't too crazy about the 3 bolts on the tips and thought it might be even more visible without the kit.
I guess I was just accustomed to seeing it with a kit

I am going to get these http://www.jcwhitney.com/item.jhtml?...=44091&BQ=null They are exaclty the same as the 3A tips, but they are 8 inches long instead of 9. I had the 3A tips, but with no kit, I thought they stuck out too far.

Hey sixspdbrd: can you post pics and a report on your new tips? Since you had the 3A's and you're ordering the JCW's you can make a direct comparison in quality, ACTUAL length, etc. I know it says 8" but you can't always be sure if you don't see them side by side.

Love My Tips
I have the 3A tips, I love them. They wake the rear end up, and goes nicely with the rear deck spoiler. You don't even see the clamps, just place the tips againts the muffler, they may stick out 2" or so.
They were my first upgrade, even my wife liked them, Nuff said.

I dont think everyone appreciates the drone that aftermarket exhuasts produce. I find it annoying, especially on the highway. [/B][/QUOTE]
Drone, not sure what your talking about. As your know, the tips are post-muffler. My 3A Tips make no noise what soever.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
Anyways, for those who will be getting the 3A exhaust tips installed, you will notice that the tips will sit too low leaving a fair amount of gap between the rear skirt.
Here's a trick: Get 2 metal adjustable hose clamps (I believe it's 2.5-3 inches) and put each of them on one of the rubber exhaust hangers on each side of the muffler. Tighten them to raise the tips so that they can be more flushed to the rear skirt.

Guys, you know you can improve the appearance of your stock tips very easily... just loosen the 10mm attach bolt, slide them off, clean them while they're off, slide them back on 180 degrees off with the attach bolt up, and re-tighten. Looks way better than having that large cutout and attach nut showing.

Three Wheelin'
Is there anyway to adjust the mufflers so they are centered between the cut out for it on my rear skirt? The left one is a little to the left, and the right one is a little to the right.

FYI: Last time I checked, Pep Boys had the 3A Racing tips (9" length) for $19 each. If you still need them go get. They seem to be coming down in price a little.

I would agree, I think debadging looks nice. However, I'd leave the A and Acura and just remove the 3.2Tl type-S. IMO

if you mean horsepower hehehe seriously though .. I don't have a kit YET and just put on 8" Pilot tips which were $60. shipped from www. jcwhitney.com They look awsome and are much nicer than the stock tips. I did read though that the stock tips look alot better if you unscrew them and flip them 180 degrees and then re-tighten. If you plan on getting a kit though .... get 9" tips
