exhaust

I'm stock 99TL except for headers.....I thought about AEM CAI but decided against it, now I'm thinking exhaust.....is there any instruction on replacing exhausts posted (I haven't searched). I'm thinking comptech to go with my headers....what do you guys thinking? Should I just get the dealer to put the exhaust in? They will probably say it will void the warrenty.....no?

unless you go cat back you wont void any warranty except the exhaust warramty. If you just go axle back mufflers you dont void your warranty at all, but they just dont cover the new mufflers that you get.

I just looked at the exhaust, looks like you simply remove the bolts and nut and install the new one and rebolt.....is it that simple? (for the comptech dunno about the other exhausts)

yes its that simple its about a 20 min job. juse spray the nuts with penetrating oil a lil bit before you remove them (for ease) and spray the rubber hangers with it to for ease of removal to.

IMO, go with the CAI cause you will get more hp out of it then the exhausts. FYI, the exhausts will only give you 1-3 hp while the CAI will give 8-10 hp. Plus the sound of the CAI at VTEC is simply amazing!:wow:

The exhaust is a simple bolt on. Just remove the two screws lift it off the rubber hangers. You can go with the CAI or the Comptech Ice box. It seems the Icebox is an easier install.

You'll love the power of the CAI, when I did exhaust it didn't make any difference.

I would have to say the cold air intake is one of the best mods out there (bang for the buck).

Dont listen to these guys! If I could do it all over again I would be stock w/ headers just like you. NO INTAKE/EXHAUST. But then again Headers cost 1000

Don't bother w/ exhaust..it doesnt do much. Especially since it's axle-back..which means it won't increase flow at all. Go with a cold air intake.
