ever pick a fight with a crotch rocket racer?
:wow: Headed north on the FL Turnpike about three miles from the I-75 interchange... Nice night, about 78 degrees. I found me a soul to go fast along with me. When the three cars blocking the lanes made enough space between them to pass, I saw his hand pull hard on the throttle and I immediatly punched it in SS mode (vsa on A/C off) at about 75 mph... With about a mile and a half before the next slow bunch of cars, we had an exhilerating climb of speed where my bone stock ('cept for z rated rubber) TL-S proceeded to leave his Kawasaki zx-6 bike about two to three car lengths behind. I am in awe of what this car can do. I must hand the concession, however, that many times it feels as if the car was driven by my emotions rather than shear engine prowness. I thought the zx-6 was supposed to be a hot bike. Although not required, at least the rider had a brain bucket and leather. Good for him. ***** Disclaimer: Keep racing to the tracks and never ever attemp this stunt at home. I do not endorse street racing, etc... etc... *****

Same here Chinoz... I ride a 2001 GSXR600 and no way at 75MPH that it would be a zx6r unless it was really old. Also, he probably didn't down shift to 3rd to get in the powerband anyways. Peak HP on motorcycles would come on around 10krpm, so most likely the miker didn't down shift.

No offense.... but our car leaving a zx-6r hahahaha. thats funny! i ride and drive every day.. i have a 02 gsxr 600 and my buddy has an 03 kawi zx-6r. that zx-6 will out run ur a$$ in a quick sec. there is no way in hell our cars can keep up wit a bike like that! the rider probably got smart and didn't want to race because knows he'll beat u. im not trying to talk ish, im only being real with you. I got an 03 type s and i know that zx-6 will leave my a$$.

Sorry man but no way, I had a ZX6 back in 94 I think it was and I will eat you alive even giving you a few cars start. Even a vette at the time tried that and he was embarrased big time. Don't ever pick a race with a sports bike if the rider is really trying. Even real sports cars, and I'm talking about 911 and Ferraris will have a hard time against a good 600, with a 1000 or more, forget it. is no contest. When I took my car to the track I saw a Susuki in the high 9's if you don't know how fast that is, I'm talking probably 0-60 in the 1 point something second. I'm not saying that what happend to you is not true but I know there is no way that he was trying.

I have a clip of a Hayabusa doing a wheelie from 50-140MPH in 8 secs. He tops out the speedo at 220 and 10,000RPM's, then takes the bike to 11,000 so I'd say substantially higher than 220MPH, which is a bit higher than stock(yes, the gauge read 350KPH for those that think I'm reading it wrong). Just thought I'd share since you reminded me about it.
But to stay on topic, even crappy sport bikes can blow good cars away. I'm thinking it's kinda funny, this whole scenario. Here we have a TL driver that's like "wow, he didn't pass me once. I totally smoked him!" and drives away satisfied. On the other hand, we have a ZX owner that was like "hey, I have someone to drive along with me at a slightly faster than normal pace. Cool, compadre!" and drives away satisfied.
I guess the bottom line is that noone was hurt and everyone left satisfied

Well, the plants in North America probably have some workers of German ancestry. So, since you layed down the gauntlet, I'd say yes
That's assuming the TL is made here. I know the MDX is made here in some plants though.

Yeah... YOU ARE ALL CORRECT. However, in this case, I know what I saw (he was next to me) and I know what I did (I was behind the wheel) and this episode, for whatever reason, I pulled away very nicely. Let me state the guy was going for it. he was NOT holding back (I am a licenced motorcycle driver and have ridden motorcycles for over fifteen years). Circumstances dictated that this time, the TL-S wound up on top. Whatever the reason, blown engine, missed gear, broken throttle cable... Maintenance of your vehicle is part of the responsability when going fast, knowing how to operate it flawlessly is another. Here are the stats for the 93 model: Top Speed: 154MPH
Acceleration: 0 to 100 - 8.7 Sec So I know that on paper all things being equal, I should have been violated... maybe the doode had carburator problems... and about the vette not being able to take the bike... I've been there with my 750 GSX and it's true.
