Talking Eternal Blue Pearl Added to TL-S Collection!

Just got my 2002 EBP 3.2 TL Type S! It is ALOT better than my old 2000 TL I am very impressed! I love the color, the handling, the looks, and the engine sound. She needs a wash though! Can i wash and wax it now? I've only had it for four days. I have Meguir's Gold Class wax, and im just going to use liquid dish soap to wash her down. Im new to the waxing world, so bare with me . Should i put wax on the headlights, taillights, chrome areas, and rims aswell? And for windows, on the interior i'd assume windex is fine, but what about the exterior? Windex there too? Thanks for all the support guys, love the forum. I'll be at the Sep. 9th Toronto meet, hope everyone else in the area goes too! I'll post pics of my baby asap. Type-S!

Viper, I'm looking into the exact same car! We'll be brothers!

How much did you pay?

I've been quoted $38,720 plus freight, pdi, tax which I think is pretty good.

BTW, I got a quote for a winter wheel and tire package from Wheel and Tire Zone in Mississauga, if we buy together, maybe we'll get a deal.

Was your dealer willing to exchange your all seasons for sport tires for a reasonable price?

i wouldn't use dish soap on ur new car!!!! mcguire's gold gives a nice shine but it doesn't protect very well nor does it last. check out www.zainobros.com for the best wax.

I believe the EBP is a little bit darker. It's pretty close though. It is only available in Canada, and ABP is only avalable in the US. If I'm not to use dish soap, then what should I use?

hemants: I am financing the car so I do not know the total price they are charging me, but 38750 sounds like a great price. It is supposed to be 41000 for a Type-S in Canada. My delivery took about 4 weeks, unfourtunately. Maybe you'll be luckier.

dish soap is fine if you want to remove old wax...like before using Zaino. dish soap is a degreaser and wax is a form of grease. I'd use car soap and that is what i use. dish soap is pretty aggressive.

Congrats!

Congrats VipeR-ACR!

I've too just recently gotten the TL-S, but mine's SSM. It's a great car. I love the new look, great power and handling, and all the luxury features.

Yeah the car is just a beaut. I grabbed some car wash liquid from Crappy Tire. Should do the trick. Just took her on a long trip over the weekend, so shes almost over 1000km (600mi). I think its time to find a 330i .

I traded in my 2000 1.6 EL SSM for an 03 TL-S SSM. Just couldn't resist the deal. Just broke the 2000 km mark and the car just purrs fine.

Also had first coats of "Liquid Glass". Had to clay bar the car then once over with Dawn soap before the LG. The car looks ten times better than when I first picked it up. Glad to see lots of TO Owners.

Congrats on your new toy !!
Dishwashing soap is fine to use. I wouldn't use it too often though. Maybe a couple of times a year. The regular blue Dawn is my choice (no scents). Since it's designed to take off grease/oil from dishes, it will do the same thing for a car (rough idea). This is really important if you're going the Zaino route. Do you research with Zaino before just buying it. It is an enthusiast product line and the prep work for it is time consuming.

You might want to clay the car as well. Get a thin sandwich bag (not a thick ziplock). While the car is wet, put your hand in the bag and feel the paint. If it feels bumpy/gritty, it should be clayed. The bag kinda magnifys the feeling.
For interior I use 303 Protection.
Mine with only 3 or 4 coats of Zaino
