Lightbulb Engine misfire - no ECU code though

HI,
I have a 99 TL that while idling has a strange engine misfire. I took it to a good mechanic and he thought it was crap in my fuel system or a buildup of carbon on the throttle body. It is not misfiring enough for a ECU code to come up.

so far i have:
cleaned the throttle body
used many kinds of complete fuel system cleaners
checked and cleaned plugs(bosch platinum 4+)

I was thinking it was a coil pack going out so I ordered brand new coil packs and stock spark plugs. I have not received them yet in the mail.

Anybody have any suggestions as to what this problem could be? Maybe someone has had a similar problem with their 99 TL.

was your TL part of the ignition switch recall?? That could be a problem as well if that part of the firing process is going.
