This week here in Phoenix the heat has been in the mid 90's this week. I noticed on hot days the idle of my car is pretty high. It is usually about 500-700 rpm but a couple times this week the idle was running at about 1500 rpm!! It was running so fast that going 40mph i could take my foot off the pedel and it was like the damn cruise control was on!!! It even ran this high when I would park the car and put the tranny in park. Mysteriously on days that were not hot, like today when it was in the mid 80's, the rpm was in the usual range when parked, even after driving...


I know many of you dont live in the hot hell that I live in but can anybody confirm in their cars that their engine idle is high when approaching tripple digit temps??????
I almost adjusted the throttle nuts under the hood but thought I would check with all of you to see if I need to take it in to get fixed or lower the throttle myself.

oh, BTW these high idles were with the A/C off(i'm poor college student trying to save gas) AKA - low income baller
