I used fishing string but that sticky shit would NOT come off i used i think its GOOP OFF or some shit my dad has it works GREAT getting bugs n stuff off the car so i figure why not, if it can get dead DRY sticky bugs off why wouldnt it work, BUT IT didn t so i used a razor to scrape at it, and now the ones that notice im debadged can see the scratches.

i got mine at autozone. goof off should have worked. that is what i used to get that gunk off. you just needed to take your time with it. sounds like you got a little too excited and rushed it. razor blades are for cutting up coke or crack not to use on your car.

I used solvent to debadge mines, just gotta get the tape soaked in solvent and use your finger nails. I also went the other route to fix some other imperfections in my trunk lid, i bought a new one. LOL

Good God in Heaven. You used a RAZOR?
Well, basically you have scratches in your paint. Resolve that appropriately.
For future reference, you must lat the Goop-Off or Goo-Gone SOAK for a serious period of time before it'll just scrape off. Once it's been soaking for like an HOUR then you may use some hard plastic to remove the stickies. By hard plastic I mean like the cap of a cheap pen for example. Something that will bend if you pust too hard.

Like the others said A RAZOR???????????????? WHY?????????
For future refrence, HEAT the area up next time, the tape/glue will let go alot easier leaving less mess. Then what you do have left, get some Goo Gone, or some 3m emblem and adhesive remover and let it SOAK on the glue/tape for awhile. 2-3 applications is prefered, then RUB it off. now that you have scratches all you can do is try to fill them with touch up paint. get your self a few tooth pics and apply the paint with them and not the honking brush that came with the touch up bottle.
now get some scratch x or something that polishes (like the 2 bottles on the left) and polish and rub the scratches and where teh emblems were to try to smooth it out as good as possible

Take pics if you can because it would be alot easier for us to direct you on how to fix the razor marks..

wow... but since you have been chastized already, I will leave that alone. Now to fix your problem. how deep are the scratches? are they deep enough to catch a finger nail in? If so, you have probably cut through the clear, which is not good, and should probably be handled by a professional bodyshop or a GOOD detailer. If not, you might be ok, but you have to proceed carefully. Now most ppl are going to think that I am high for telling you this considering your "enthusiasm" but it may be possible to VERY LIGHTLY wetsand the affect area with 2000-4000 grit. and then followed up with a PC and some degrading abrasive polishes, such as POORBOYS SS2, then SSR1 to remove the wetsand scratches. BUT IF YOU CAN FEEL THE SCRATCH WITH THE PAD OF YOUR FINGER OR YOU CAN CATCH A FINGER NAIL IN IT, DO NOT WETSAND!!!!!! It may require that you get professional assistance, or at least get someone that can determine how deep the scratches are and recommend the best method to fix them. If they are extreme, then maybe the only way to correct them will be a repaint of the trunk.

wow........................ Well I have to say we have all done dumb as stuff so dont beat yourself up over it.. I try to keep those dumb things to items under 30k.. but oh well if you really need something in the future to scrape with use either finger nail or bondo spreader soft plastic shouldnt hurt the surface of your paint... Good luck and hey it could be worse.

big mistake..
you could always try some scratchX and polish the paint, then apply some wax... or get the trunk repainted, or put the badges back on.
good luck!

Touch it up to prevent the moisture from going in, and then reapply the A C U R A badge back. That's probably the best way to hide it. If ya got the dough, have the trunk repainted - at least that gives you a reason to remove the A badge and fill in the holes.

since you were going for the 'clean' look, stay with the plan. treat your car right. slapping inspire emblems is a sorry ass cover up. take your car to a reputable shop to refinish your car's ass. while your there, you might consider taking the "A" off too and have them fill the 2 holes. see, all that *tupidity is justified. then you can post pics of your car's clean smooth behind. if you still want to go jdm, then hang your inspire logo after the refinish job is complete
