ECU reset and changin tranny oil

I installed a short ram air intake...do I need to reset my ECU? How do I accomplish that? Also...has anyone changed their own tranny oil? Is there a filter as well? Just drain and fill or is there something more? What about appropriate oil? I had it changed at 30k....now I am at 55K on my 99TL. With all the tranny probs, thought i would change the oil just to be safe.
Thanks for the help!!

The other day i left my interior lights on and my battery diied. I had to jump start the car. Everything was reset, and let me tell you, the car was and still is much more responsive than it has ever been before. Do it and the computer will adjust to the short ram better. But, have your navi and radio code ready. Also i flushed my tranny and my occasional hard shifts and other lil things went away.

Black Thunder, under the car look up at your tranny. One bolt will have a 3/8 size square nut shape to it - using your ratchet loosen it to drain your fluid. Buy 3 qts of Honda ATF and use 2.9 to fill it. Open the hood and on top the tranny you will see a large bolt and washer - that is where you fill it. There is no filter we can service. Some members, me included change the oil once, drive five minutes and do it again as one drain doesn't remove but about one third of the old stuff. I do this every 25K. Only odd thing to me was how tight the factory had those bolts.

reset and tranny oil

Thanks! I have changed tranny oil before..on other cars. This car, however, (based on the tranny failure posts) makes me nervous! Someone told me my 4 speed tran is the same one honda has been using for a while with no probs. Just wanna make sure I do all I can to keep my baby in good shape. I will do the double flush as you suggest.

Thanks!!

I flush, refill, drive the tl forward n reverse and flush again and again(maybe about 4 times until the drained ATF turns color from grayish, dark red to pinkish.
I buy a dozen quarts of Honda ATF and do this every 15000.
Did it to my 89 legend wc was slipping on 3rd gr when cold and now is still running great at 164,000 m.
This is one of the best things you can do to your car........any car that is.
