Eclipse AVX 2494 AVN 2454 DVD/Cd player

I was wondering if anybody was familiar with this unit? And if anybody ever had this model or older models installed in their TL.? Like what dash kit is needed? or it needs a custom dash kit. This unit is 7x7x4. 6.5 inch screen. I did contact Tweeter and they said that they would have to make a custom dash kit.. But i want to be sure that is does fit before i buy it.. any ideas?

It should fit fine, but you would need a custom install/kit. Might have to remove the useless CD holder above the Headunit.

Sorry to add this to the thread - but what does 'single/double din' mean? I've seen it mentioned a few times.

Okay...carry on....

It's a phat screen and you don't have to have a brain or any other external crap to hook up...

No ours is a single din as per the available Metra Kit, but can be made into a double din when a customize kit is made.

Street Spirit
Imagine an aftermarket HU that is single din.
Double the size of the single is double din, like the Eclipse.

so bascially getting this eclipse would be no problem right? As long as i get a custom double din kit made for my car right?

Yup, seems to be the consensus. If you wanted to be sure, go to a reputable local car audio place and one, see if they can do it, and two, get an estimate.

Yea i called Tweeter and asked them.. They said they could install it.. IF it only uses a normal dash kit then it would cost around 15-20 bucks. But it they have to do some custom it would cost around 75 bucks.. And last was if they had to do a complete custom dash kit it would cost around 150 bucks. I dont think that that would be an option.. I hope not..
