EBC Greenstuff - Good news/Bad news

For the many of you that like EBC Greenstuff performance brake pads for the second generation ACURA 3.2 TL:

The Good News - Effective today (1/4/05) Tirerack (www.tirerack.com) is offering EBC Greenstuff brake pads for $54.00 which is discounted over their regular price of $62.10. Shipping varries by zip....my shipping was $9.

The Bad News - The Tirerack discount proce is a closeout and Tirerack will no longer carry EBC Greenstuff pads. Once they sell out they will no be available. Due to difficulty in keeping enventory stocked, Tirerack will no longer carry EBC products once they are sold out.

If you want 'em, get 'em while you can

I was a little too fast to spread some rep points!! LOL

Placed my order 5 minutes ago and I just got a call from Tire-Rack in Indiana. Guy said front pads for the TL-S are discontinued and they do not have any more.

Sorry to hear that TL-S4now. I ordered mine at 7:45 this morning and got a confirmation shipped notice. I guess I barely got them in time.

You can still get them through Pepboys, for an extra 10-15 dollars.

btw this might confirm the rumor that EBC will discontinue the green pads (dunno what's the reason but they are not as popular than the Hawks in general)

but Hawks has much more brake dust than EBC

are these pads that much better (twice as much) as OEM style pads? How can you really tell when you need new ones? My rears have probably 1/8 - 1/4 of an inch left and the fronts seem to have less. Do our brakes have those "scraper" things that make noise when the pad is getting too low?

Im trying to justify the extra money! thanks

Hawks are nowhere near as good as the green stuff. the dont last as long, more dust, and harder on rotors

not sure if hawks works well on our car

but i have asked a frd who have ITR fully modded and works in a garage and he recommends hawks over EBC

but as you said, they are way too much dust

now they got a ceramic pads, brand new line so it's not as aggressive as the HPS

Wait, is Tirerack just not going to carry them or is EBC not going to produce them anymore?

As far as I was told, Tirerack is no longer going to carry the EBC line (Either red or green). I haven't heard if the EBCs are going to no longer be produced. You can still get them at Pepboys for now.
