DVD player installation..

hey , i just bought a clarion DVD player.

now.. ive heard that the stock TL audio system is a bose one.

the stock speakers are runnign off a stock amp with the deck.

the guy at teh audio install place told me , if i was gonan install the dvd player., i woudl have to ripp out all the stock speakers and purchase all after maket speakers to run with the dvd player,

rewireing, ect ect a big expensive re-setup.


does any one on here have sucessfully installed a dvd system in your TL, and did you run into the same problem

no alot of us have it BUT you posted in the wrong forum. what you wanna do is at the top of the page, click on off topic and scroll down to audio/video. post there and your questions will be answered

answer: the audio guy is a moron and basically wanted to take your money. once you replace the stock HU, you dont really have to replace anything else. the stock subwoofer and amp wont work but the speakers in the doors will work without a problem.

DVD player

I got a pioneer DVD player, best buy hooked it up..They did a shitty job with the dash kit, but as far as the speakers go, the only speaker that will not work with your dvd player is your 8" stock sub in the rear...All my other speaker worked fine..The reason is that the 8" speaker is ran of an internal amp in your stock stereo.

uhh....did you buy ur dvd player to work for ur monitors?...just hook up the audio out from the dvd player to ur headunit's aux in.
