Question Drop-in Filters

this might be a stupid question but i just ordered the Drop in filter and was wondering do i just replace it with the stock or do i have to do something else.... i am reading on other posts that says something about removing a resonator... can some one explain that to me and how.... the thing is my car is in the shop and i can really look for my self... i am getting the car back in 2 weeks, i think..... thanks

Is pretty easy. You have to take the bumper off, then there are I think two bolts holding this box. The box is conected to 2 pipes one coming from the engine bay, where the intake gets the air. Another one conected to the Air filter box. They both easily disconect as I remember. Here is some info why you should do it:

Whoa Whoa Whoa.... To change the filter element, simply unscrew the airbox under the hood(it's a black square box with a hose coming from the intake manifold) , remove the old filter, oil the new filter and just drop it in.. As for the resonator, it's another box under the airbox which supposedly restricts free flow of the filter. For that, you take off the drivers side front wheel, pull off the clips on the inner fender trim and pull down the black inner wheel well plastic trim, the resonator should be right there, remove the bolts and you're good to go.
