driving with 8 month old oil

hey,
i left my car in storage for 8 months and i need to drive to the dealership which is like 150 miles away. I had my oil and filter changed right before i left and only drove with the new oil for maybe 200 miles.
my question is: is it safe to drive that 8 month old, but never used, oil just to the dealership? i checked the condition of all the fluids and level, they all seems good. The oil is still that amber color and has good consistency but i was thinking that it just sounds wrong on principle. Whatya u guys think?
thanks

You should be OK even if the oil is in the crankcase for 8 months. The oil becomes bad in the crankcase when it's been used for a while because it accumulates products of combustion and organic acids. In addition, it can accumulate water (with engine use). 200 miles on oil that is otherwise unused should be like new. Hope this helps

You'll be fine. I wouldn't make it a habit, but driving a hundred and fifty miles won't hurt anything. Just let is warm up good and drive slow for a bit. Let the tranny fluid warm up. From sitting you may have a little bit of rust on your rotors. The brakes may grind a bit for a while, but they pads will take care of the rust and they'll be as good as new.

I don't think that it would hurt at all. But I would be sure and let it warm up before driving like Silverbullet00 said. In that short of distance you will be alright.
