driver side air vent and instru cluster panel

Hi all, I have a question about your 99+ TL.

I have a 02 TLS. When I leave the driver side air vent
half open by adjusting the horizontal dial right beneath
the vent, if the AC is blowing in full blast, the air is so
strong that it closes the driver side air vent. But it doesn't
happen on passenger side air vent.

Does it happen
on your TL? I suspect the air vent is defective. At first
I thought it was a feature to force air to blow from center vent.
But it doesn't make sense.

If the air vent need to be replaced, does it mean the whole
instrusment cluster panel need to be replaced? Are the air
vent dial control moulded together with the panel?

Please advise,

I've also noticed that the up/down aiming of the vent isn't tight on the 01 TL...the vibration of shutting the door moves it.

I've seen others post this same thing... its a problem your dealer should fix. You might see if you can find the old, old threads about it.
