Driver Seat Squeaks!

I hate it....
it squeaks right where my left back shoulder blade rests....
everytime i lean back or accelerate hard... it squeaks....
i can push it with my hand and it squeaks everytime....
and it sounds like there is a spring there....

The problem is i don't know if acura can repalce the Seat for an A-Spec...

The passenger seat also has a problem with a unproperly attached back pocket behind the seat....
the bottom right corner has detached....
this sucks....

anybody got a solution to how to fix the driver seat problem....?
i was thinking of leaning my seat back and soaking it up with some " son of a gun STP" and hope fully it will lubriacate through to the spring....

anybody else have this problem?

This may sound stupid, but are your headrests all the way down? My seat was squeaking before, and I would have sworn it was coming from inside the seat itself. However, I raised the headrest up to the first notch and no more squeak!! Just a suggestion.

Yes, there is a solution to this problem. I took my car back to the dealer 6 times before the service manager himself took the seat apart and found the problem. The squeak comes from a spring inside the seat that goes in and out of a circular metal mount to adjust to the drivers movements and weight. He stuffed the area with newspaper and also put black electrical tape around the circular mount to stop the sound. It's been 3 months now, problem has not come back. This can be done by you. He took the back of the seat out to access the inside and did all the work from there. Hope this helps.

Yep...I have an a-spec and had the identical problem. Not a similar, but identical problem. I could reproduce the sound by pushing on that area with the tips of my fingers. Acura in markham fixed it, and the sound hasn't come back for over 6 months...

Mine was so annoying...but they fixed it right away!

just bring in my car for many squeeking problems:
1. complaint about the driver seat (he said he couldn't hear it :P )
2. Two front seat belt buckle squeek (getting them replaced)
3. Center console / armrest squeeking (getting it replaced)

Hate it but can't say anything about it...however my suggestion is by the time you know how to emulate the sound..record it and demonstrate the squeeking noise in front of the manager.. i did that and he promised me that he will pinpoint the problem to the mechanics by himself...that should work..rite?

good luck...and btw this service didn't qualify me for a loaner...huahhhh

Be careful with the WD-40. IT can be spryed in certain areas and shouldn't be in others. Especially not in the seat belt fastners because there are SRS switches inside there I believe, so you dont want to spray ne thing in there.

I just had mine taken to the dealer and they have ordered new sealt belt fastners and they are going to replace the front passenger and drivers side for free under warranty.

My seat squeaks by the elbow rest. I found that the lumbar lever is rubbing against the middle console lid. I placed a tissue in between them and found out that there is all different kinds of noise coming from the car besides the squeaks.

my wife's 03 t/l-s drivers seat squeeks too. the problem is I can't get it to do in when I want it to. it seems it does it more often when turning the steering wheel. hopefully I can duplicate it when the dealer has it to do transmission update next week. is there by any chance a tech. service bul. on this?

vettefool, with mine you could actually make it sound by just grabbing the female piece of the seat belt buckle and moving it from side to side, fordward to backwards. You can get the squeeking sound by doing this, that is why when you buckle up and press the gas or the brake the Momentum of your body will move the seat belt which then will move the buckle wich will make this sound
