The downsides to having lowered my car...

I noticed oil drops on my driveway...Put it up on a lift to check it out...my frikkin oil pan has a hairline crack, probably from the last pothole in the street that didn't seem so deadly when I saw it... Now I gotta order another oil pan... Dag.... I have some aluminum adhesive stuff covering the area, it should keep it drip free for now...it's wasn't dripping a lot...just a drop every so often..My oil was still full...but now no more drops, and I'll order the pan tomorrow..Oh well..

If this is the rubber stuff that you spray on to 'coat' the exterior (like the grip on your hammer) Don't do it. A friend has done it and basically the underside was too hot for the rubber to adhere at all. There was goo dripping in the garage for months. It is extremely difficult to remove from the garage floor, (imagine harden tar that is rubberised).
I think if the pan is going to crack over a pothole, it's gonna crack with or without the rubber mats. My $0.02.

The car's in my driveway...the back is higher up, there's an incline that my front wheels didn't roll up on yet, so it makes the front look lower...I'll take pics of my driveway to explain what I mean..

I have comptech springs, no spoiler, and I still scrap the lip of my front end when going in and out parking garages unless I am anal about out it. I am about ready to give up because in Houston traffic, sometimes you gotta move fast to get onto the street or you'll sit forever.

I was seriously thinking about getting the springs, but now I'm having second thoughts. NYC pothole are the worst.
