Does this look like a good deal on a tranny?

http://usedautoparts.everdrive.com/p...spx?sku=300661

On top of the price paid, my mechanic said he will install it for me for $300. I dont need a tranny just yet, but i want to be ready if/when i do need one.

Standards

INCLUDES:
Transmission and torque converter if applicable

DOES NOT INCLUDE:
But not limited to shifters, throw out bearing, clutch, pressure plate, clutch forks and slave cylinders

WHAT TO EXPECT:
All transmissions will be steam cleaned or pressure washed.
All transmissions will have pan pulled to inspect for shavings and fluids will be drained.
All automatic transmissions will have torque converter secured inside bell housing of transmission.
All transmissions will be shrink wrapped, banded, and boxed onto a pallet.
All transmissions will have warranty and customer service information attached.
Proper installation instructions found on warranty card will need to be heeded to meet warranty guidelines.
The what's included/not included worries me. What exactly are you purchasing?

I looked at that aswell, but i think whats in the "not included" sections, are parts for a manual tranny. They have that disclaimer for all transmissions on thier site.

without even looking at the link- thats a used transmission washed and wrapped, NOT already rebuilt- so expect another 2500 when you need to rebuild it
Have yours rebuilt at aamco, or if not salvage title, ask the acura dealer what they can do for you- cash deal. 2500 at aamco was last years price and everything is going up!

that sounds like a used trans. Go to a aamco and have it rebuilt if you refuse to go to the dealer.

I wouldn't buy it. It's a used transmission that they power wash, wrap, and ship to you. This is right from their warranty policy:

Transmissions:
1. Failure to do any of the following, and to provide written maintenance receipts and other documentation thereof, voids the warranty:

a. Draining and flushing the transmission prior to installation

b. Filling transmission with factory recommended fluids

c. Replacing all external seals

d. Replacing pan gaskets

e. Replacing filters

f. Resetting or replacing computer codes

g. Replacing transmission oil cooling lines

h. Filling differential

i. Adjusting shifter mechanisms

So you pay them $1200 to wash and ship a used tranny to you. Then you have to almost rebuild it yourself to have a warranty? That's a bunch of . You might as well go to a junkyard and save about $500, maybe more, wash it yourself and do the above listed items.
