Does anyone's engine feel heavy?
My engine feels so heavy and I was wondering if anyone else feels this. It's like the engine just does not want to go. Also, there is a huge delay from the time I push the gas pedal to when the engine actually rev's. Is there anyway I can adjust this? I noticed this when I drove our 94 Accord today. The car's pedal is a lot more sensitive. Same with my cousins 99 maxima.
Thanks
Thanks

Using a 12mm wrench, turn nuts to loose them up. then adjust by pulling and letting the cable sit a little tense, like about to move the throttle rotor. Hold it, then tight the nuts. That's it.

yes is very easy. on your throttle body, there are two throttle rotors with metal cables. The black one is cruise control. The gold one is the one you need to adjust.

Ok, I was looking at it and I didn't know how tight to make it. It seems pretty tight but then again, I dont know squat about it. Also, I dont want to mess it up so that my car wont start or rev's up to 5000 rpms. If I went to the dealer, what can I tell them to do?
Thanks bitium

the worst that could happen if too tight (meaning the butterfly is open) would be that you will idle at 1k+ rpms. Don't think you want to do that, but it would NOT cause damage to the engine, uless you leave it like that for a long time(days or months) which I still think it won't affect anything major.

Do you get a huge delay while in SS?

Yeah.. it sort of does that when not in Sport Shift. You can put it to the floor and it's like it has to take a big gulp of air before it decides to downshift.

The cable is called throttle cable. The spec for cable deflection is between 10-12mm according to the service manual. You need to push the throttle link toward the throttle level until there's no clearance before checking. Hope that helps. But I think it's better to let the mechanic to mess around with it.
