Does '02 cup holder/insert fit '00?

I lost my cup holder insert, the thing that goes in the front holder. Someone is selling it from a 2002, will it fit on a 2000?

Yes it will! You can pick them up at the dealership for under $20 too, very worthwhile upgrade for 99-01 TL's other then the 02-03 tail lights/ 6 dics cd changer.

Hmmm...I switch them out a long time ago, but if my memory serves I believe the 02-03 have bigger diameter for larger drink capacity (I think the 32oz 7-11 stuff fits). And I believe they mod the design to keep the cups in place during harsh braking.

So are you saying a '02 will fit a '00 or not? I really only need the insert thingy because my drinks are spilling everywhere without it.

If I was to buy one at the dealership, which year is best that will fit for a '00?

hmm thats actually the problem with my 99 inserts..

they are so big that when i brake or give the car gas the drink flop all over the place..

one would think it would need to be smaller throughout to hold the drinks in place.

Yes the 02-03 cup holder will fit the 99-01. It is a very simple snap on & off replacment (all 99-03 cupholders are the same size fitment, just different diameter in cup holder capacity).

I have stated the benfits of the 02-03 upgrade, so if you are going to pick up a new holder, why not upgrade to the better 02-03 ones?

You can get these done at a tint shop, I seen it on a car hood at a tint shop a few weeks ago. The owner wanted strips covering his hood scoop but the one I seen was more dull.

Buy the 02-03 holder insert. Holds the drinks MUCH better! I've got one in my 00 and it works great.

note that you need to remove the little tabs from the front of the 02-03 cupholder. it's a 30 second job with a hacksaw but without it the insert won't seat properly, doors won't close right over it, etc.

Going to call Acura to see how much it cost and buy it. Does Honda have this part?

Had to cut the tabs in front and near the back to have a snug fit. Great upgrade.

with a little bit of filing the new cupholder fits almost perfectly. looks like it'll do the job much better than the original one from 1999
