Do you love or hate your TLS?

So what ya guys think. DO you wish you never bought the TLS, or are you soo happy like me with the car? I want your thoughts....

I know more people love their TLS than hate it... i just want to prove it to some. I dont want people saying, they regret the car because of what they hear about other peoples problems. I wanna hear about YOU and your feelings about YOUR car.

So far so good...

...but it's been less than one week. No unexpected flaws so far (only the expected ones). I'll post a full, Week 1 report this weekend!

I loved my 2001 TL-P and when I get my Type-S I'm sure I will love it more.

Indifferent

After being at my parents house and driving my dad's CLK and my brothers GS 400, I kind of feel indifferent towards the TL-S.

It doesn't feel as luxurious as either of those cars, and the Mercedes engine, while not as powerful, is a heck of a lot smoother than Honda's V6 and plenty powerful for my tastes.

Even my friends VW Passat that I drove had a much smoother engine.

I don't love the car, but I don't hate it either. I'll keep it around until I can afford something better!

I absolutely LOVE this car! I've experienced absolutely NONE of the problems I hear people commonly complain about.

No squeaks (had one - it ended up being a box I had stuffed behind my seat & forgotten about... )
No body flex!
No rattles!
Very quiet - even on the highway!
GREAT GREAT GREAT pickup!
Very good mileage (given the power)!
Decent sound system (when you turn it up a little)
LOVE the navigation system (I'm very spoiled now...)
6,700 miles in 7 months!

It's a keeper!

I love it compared to my old Buick, but it's not as smooth as I thought it would be, and I think it's too big to be a sports car. Its just so damn big!

I love it and I hate it. A month ago, when it was in the shop waiting for its 3rd tranny, I hated it. Right now, since I have it back and it's running great, I love it. But if my tranny goes for a 3rd time, I will definitely hate it and that will be the end of it. I will push it off a cliff to its firey death, claim it was stolen, and go buy a bicycle as a my primary form of transportation (well, maybe the new G35 or something).

I was just kidding about the insurance fraud thing. I would never condone such an act.

14,000 miles and I STILL LOVE IT. I saw how the maxima owners are trying to prove that the TL-S is not that great of a car on their board by bring up the "build qualty issues" thread. Honestly, most people on th maxima board are jealous of the TL-S. They have like 3 or 4 new threads a day trying to bring down the TL-S.
CrazyAcura, I think this is a great poll, and I'm sure we're gonna see that most people love their TL-S. Personally, I can't think of any other car I'd want for the money!

The TL and TL-S were not designed as sports cars. They are "entry level" luxury cars.

I have a 99 TL and I love it to death. It has over 59K miles now and still runs like it was new. My only problem was a rattling sunroof and door sill which was fixed under warranty. Plus I get plenty of comments because of the way it looks (modded).

I LOVE MY TL

I love my TL-S. I know that it's not a Mercedes, Lexus, or BMW, so saying I don't like it b/c of my experiences with those cars would be silly... it's not supposed to be those cars. Like someone said, it's a middle end luxury sedan. What other car could you get with all of these features for under $30k (no navi)?? Not many, if any. I've sunk close to $1500 into the car since I bought it, and plan several more mods. I plan on running it into the ground. I'll get a project car down the road and use that as my "sporty" car. Not that the TL isn't sporty, but like someone said, it's not the sports car type.

In all fairness to the Maxima owners, their car is really sweet too. I would probably have gotten the '02 Maxima if Acura didn't introduce the Type-S. I'm not defending the guys on that board.... most of them are asses, but the car is nice......

in the past few weeks, I have been able to go with some of my friends to test drive.. what people would call our competitors... bmw330, GS300-400, I35, ES300, IS300 and the I35. Ok, ill admit GS400, thats a sweet car. but it is also almost 15kmore. now, for the money, you can't get any sweeter. if you like the size of a true sedan.. we beat everyone in our price range. I Love My BABY!!!!!
some of my friends hate me, cause they dont want to get the same car that someone else has. Not my fault i beat them to it. and after test driving with some of my friends, then letting them take my baby for a spin, some will be driving my car. (wait.. can i get some sort of commission check from acura? since i pretty much did the sales pitch. )

I have a dilemna: I love the TL-S power and performance for the money. I thought my wife would appreciate the value and enjoy driving the car. Unfortunately, while she loves the power, the suspension is just too stiff for her and she wants a cushier ride. I only drive the car about 30% of the time, so I want HER to be comfortable. I have a two seat sport truck and a two seater sports car, and we know those ain't cushy, so the sedan is really for her. I thought I could pull a fast one and have my cake and eat it too with the TL-S, but she just doesn't love it like I do...

Any suggestions?

I might have to get her a 530i.

We both love V-TEC. So, S Type makes the car. As far as suspension goes, what would need to be replaced to soften car? Obviously 17 inch wheels and tires are harder than 16's but other than shocks, what else is different in P and S?

Talking

I've only had it since mid December, so it's an early judgement, but. I love it! The only annoyance is the faulty lady in the Navi (2.05). I know mom's '01 TL-P (2.03) talks perfectly every time. Mine clips the first command. I'll make the dealer fix it eventually (I figure it needs 2.06) so I'll be patient. This is the fastest car I've ever owned, after driving a few slugs in a row, it's a pleasure. My first car was a new 1974 Firebird Formula 400. That car could smoke it's tires for a block (killed the 0-60 times though! ) No rattles yet, it's just a baby!

Just FYI, the TL-P has a VTEC engine also.

Hows the car after getting it back? Is it all fixed yet?

Would you believe the car won't be ready until NEXT Friday?

The car was stolen on December 9th, recovered on the 14th, sat in impound yard a day, towed to body shop on 15th, Mercury adjuster did not see the car until the 20th, then Christmas weekend hit, couldn't get a fog lens, then new Year's weekend hit, couldn't find a muffler, and bam...here we are in the present.

The good news is I figured out what to do with the two holes left after removing the Acura emblem. Since the decklid was damaged and needs to be fixed and painted anyway, the body shop is going to fill the holes! I will have the clean, shaved rear that I always wanted!

According to results up to now, more than 25% hate it or have a love-hate relationship. Surprisingly high, IMO.

We really don't want to hear about your hygiene concerns....

Seriously, though--hope the car comes back in good shape after being violated like that.

Love my TLS

Got 20k on my TLS and I love it as well. I've sunk about 4k into it in mods after the initial buy also. Can wait till that Comptech Supercharge comes out!
