Do you guys think this is a good deal?
I'm in the market for the Acura TL-S Black - Black interior - I finally found one 56, 00miles for $15,500. Now,everywhere else I've checked the car is $17, 000 or higher. The Vin number begins with 19UUA5686. Do you know if this is a tranny with recall problems? I ran the carfax report and it looked clean. What should I look for inthe way of problems.?I'm in my 50's but I LOVE this car. Wish navi was standard but I see it is not. Thank you for your time. I gave my CL 99 to my son. And this form was a great help with problems I had with it.

You can call Acura at 1-800-382-2238 x 5 6a-5p pacific time
Tell them you are looking at buying and want history of car.
They know all and can tell you if trans covered- by VIN
Take any car you are serious about to a mechanic and have the brakes checked
and for any damage. Carfax only knows what it is told- a car can be totalled and never reported to them
Kinda of surprising to see a -S without navi
Take a look in the forum here called Off Topic and Private Sales
There are members selling cars and you can post a free want ad there as well
Good Luck

I just got my '02 AGP TL-s a month ago for $10,500 and it has navi. I've seen the '02 all the way up to nearly $18K at a dealer. Found the typical price to be between $13K and $15K though. (For an '03, expect to pay $2K to $3K more.) Yet, I took my time, searched around and got the exact color I wanted with navi for $10.5K.
The more patience you have the better the a deal you will find. Took me nearly a month to get mine, but I'm glad I waited and looked around.
$15K isn't a bad deal, but it's not the absolute best deal you can find either

there are a lot of tls without navi... not to mention, in Canada, there is no navi option at all. though we have the A-SPEC option which comes with some great features as well as with much better looking factory stock rims!

Note that some 2003 TLs are not covered by the 109,000 mile extended warranty on the transmission. In contrast, all 1999-2002 TLs are provided with this. As mentioned above, call Acura with the VIN number and they'll tell you if it's covered.
And cars with salvage titles are also not covered.
And I agree with the above comment about CarFax reports. They're worth running but they can miss major items.
Is the TL being sold by the original owner?
Good luck with your search!

A well maintained one owner car with service records is worth more
than any car you will find at the dealer lot.
You get what you pay for
a $12k car that needs 3000 worth of repairs is not a deal
