2002 TL have a recall for seat belt and i was just wondering if 2000tl are also involved?

 

There was a recall for seatbelt buckle for 2000 TL... but that was like half a year ago. I had that taken care of already. I don't think there has been any other recall on it.

They called it a seatbelt buckle "update" for year 2000 TL. I took my TL in and all they did was replace the driver side buckle with a "updated" one. Less than 20 mins. No sweat.

How did you miss it? I didn't get the letter like others did either... but since I was a member of this forum and very well informed... Thanks to Snook for having this site!!

 

When I wear driver side seat belt.. it makes funny sound everytime I move.... Only driver side does that.. Is it what it is??????

Does anyone have any extra info on the 2000 recall? I missed is as well, as I was at school for most of the year. What does it fix? I know that right now my drivers side seatbeat sign is on a lot even though the seatbelt is on. Does the new seatbelts fix that? thanks

 

The 2000 recall was to update a microswitch in the seat belt buckle. It's designed to correct problems with the seat belt light staying on even though the belt is buckled. It took my dealer about 3 hours to fix (apparently both front seats have to be removed to install the new ones) and they provided me with a loaner car.

Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering if it was just mine or everyone's tl whose seatbelt light kept coming on. I getting mine tmrw, but they didn't say anything about a loaner car . . . i better call them.

also, does the seatbelt light going on all the time affect anything except being annoying?

interesting...my dealer told me that there was a recall on seat belt buckles also... but he didn't say what year (mine is 99) and what happens with mine is the seat belt buckle squeaks or creaks everything someone moves or applies pressure to the buckle....i got both seats "fixed" but a day later they be squeakin again from the same seat belt buckle...and now it seems that the drivers side is squeakin a lot more than before...doh! but if your seat don't squeak...i wouldn't get the update...as for me...it's caused more squeakin

 

HOw many recalls for 2000 TL?? I am aware of one, and that is the seatbelt buckle. Do we have another one???
