do i need camber?

ok...ive been dropped on comptechs for about 2 weeks now..and when i look at the rear tires..they look like they tilt inword...i have a pretty hewavy system in the back....and the gap right now is less then a inch....i have the camber kit...but i dont want to put it on yet becasue i just put my new rims on and im to lazy to switch them (dont want to scratch my new rims with alignment)...do you think i'll last till winter?...how man ymiles do you think i can go before i see a signifacant amount of wear?...also..do i really need a second alignment?....

if nessasary..i could just wsitch back to stock..do what i have to do...and then switch back to my new wheels...hmm..is it bad to take wheels off and put them back on too often?

have a tire place do a alignment check on it. if its more than 1-1.5 you are probably going to have fairly uneven wear

You will need to install the rear camber kit with the Comptech springs. I thought I was going to get away with not installing the kit but it didn't take long to wear out the inside of the tires. If you're running the S03's now take the time to switch and get the kit installed. S03's are too expensive to ruin when you already have the parts to fix it.

everyone....dont be fooled by hearsay and non experienced talk. you WILL need a camber kit for this drop. the reason alot of ppl say you dont need camber kit is cause they dont drive their car alot. it takes so many miles of driving before you see the results of camber being off.

if u look at the car from the rear and see the tires slanted inward like so: /---\ then u need to get it adjusted. the fronts as well. dont do it and u will be replacing ur tires as soon as 15k miles...

For the rear, it's fine to run negative camber up to -1 degree, especially for handling purposes. Just stay on top of your tire pressure (35psi for stock tires) and rotate front to back every 3K miles. The key thing to look out for that causes premature wear on tires is the toe-in/toe-out factor. A good alignment shop should be able to set this as close to zero as possible. Hope this helps...

i thought toe doesnt cause tire wear?...just causes you to wander...both my rear tires look toed in..but the dealer said they did an alignment after the spring install..

Toe-in/toe-out upfront will effect wandering. You want to minimize the toe-in, and keep the specs as even as possible on both sides(rear). Also, the rear will naturally have some negative camber due to the drop.

I have comptech drop and do not need cambers. I had the alignment done by the dealership the next day after installing them and my rear is at .9, and the max spec is 1.0. I will have very very minor inner wear but not even close to what i would need to justify cambers.

I have a 10W7 and a few amps in the back along with the normal garbage in the trunk.

its a coin toss dude. Maby you need them, maby you dont.
