Well, just sold my 95 Honda Accord and picked up a 2002 Acura 3.2TL the other day...and i found out about this headlight/lamp first hand after a car wash.
Needless to say, i've never really done much electrical work on vehicles, (i've really only dabbled into intakes, CV joints, tie-rods) and after reading some posts i think it doesnt sound to bad.
I wanted to grab some opinions about the following products:
http://www.hidkit.com/Acura-TL-HID-Kits/

It's likely that it's only the bulb, therefore you won't need a full conversion kit.
01TL4TL (whatever Tom's username is) will attest to Kaixen 5000k bulbs one of our vendor sells. Great light output with a small hint of blue. Price should be right too.
The process to change the bulb isn't as easy as a conventional bulb, but it's certainly not rocket science. There's at least a DIY or two on how to replace.

Figures I see the haters on their own fellow TL owners. They are actually really bright and I can see much better...no blacklight look or trouble seeing. And your right nothing good comes from modesto! lol....no argument here. Rockstar your 25! You haven't lived long enough to know what you are talking about lol. I had an accord to when I was 25. Not all thugged out with the wheels slanted out like you do but I grew up. You will too one day and learn there's no point in hating on other enthusiasts or judging anyone you don't know...SPECIALLY ON THE INTERNET! Pointless. Nice work...

the first shop said it was too difficult to change the bulb??? I hope the OP never goes there again...
I bought headlights from HIDExtra. Not as bright as OEM but its also a lot cheaper.

you buy 30,000k headlight bulbs, like i said earlier, nothing you say after holds water.
your headlights put out shit light, FACT.
i've already owned the car you're driving at the age of 32, so im not sure where you were going with that one...
and anyone that uses the word hating at 32 years old, clearly hasnt grown up at all...
the fact that you think my car is "thugged out" shows your extensive knowledge of automobiles.

wanna do a "rockstar" tag team match?
Did a bunch of posts get deleted, or am I missing something? I see nothing after April, and then the "Giantssuckbutatleastitsnotthejetsfan" post.
Yes, with a 30K bulb, you will still be able to see, but you'll likely have knocked down your usable lumens to what you get out of a halogen bulb. Why bother upgrading in that case, unless you were after the pink hue.

LOL...I guess they are still talking ish like a bunch of girls. I don't waste my time either...too much judging. Got better things to do with my time then read idiotic comment from retards. Last time ill be looking at this lame ass thread.

The complainers do have a point. As the car ages so will the hid system, as will anything else. It may cost $1000 for a timing belt change from the dealer, but people don't expect to pay over $1000 to replace the hid ballast and bulb of one headlight. And to make matters worse, you gotta remove the bumper to replace these parts.....so it's definitely not a 1 minute job of removing the old light bulb and plugging in a new one. This is what shocks most folks.

HID vs Halogen lights.
Of course, my TL has the HID and I love them. But I must say, in my truck, I put the over-wattage Nokya Stage II halogen bulbs that you can't get anymore
(9005s, 9006s, & H-3 foglights)
With it being a truck and higher off the ground, it is pretty damn bright-people flash at me sometimes running the low beams & fogs in the truck, nobody flashes me in the TL.

I have a 2003 Acura TL and the bulb is out. I replaced the bulb but that did not fix it. So i'm thinking it's likely the ballast. I am currently leaning on buying the HID conversion kit from hidextra.com. So my question is, isnt the stock headlight in the 03 TL a HID? Also, do I need any of the part? ie Relay Harness, Capacitor, or a Canceller?

Djrx, it could be multiple things....this is what i would do....
swap the bulbs side to side....if the problem follows its the bulb....
if the problem does not follow, its the ignitors/ballast....
then swap the ballast side to side....if the problem follows, then its the ballast else its the ignitor....
