that looks good

yessir. looks very hot. I'm pretty sure it won't look like that behind a lens, but still would look great.

**UPDATE**

So I love the retro and all, but I have to say that I'm not happy with how my shroud looks like. It doesn't cover all of the projectors and leaves a lot for people to see. I'd like to find something that really covers everything up. There's the OEM BMW shrouds, but the thing is that they are way too big for your housing. I might just open it up next weekend and go with another route. I will post everything for yall to see.

this may be a dumb question, but how do you wire the lights up so you can test the aim on it before putting it on the car? like in the one pic where you have the light from just one projector on the wall above your windows...do you just hook the lights up to the battery while it is set behind the projector?

no no, hook up the ballast back to the car, then hook up the connector to the bulb..just as if you were putting it back onto the car.

ah...thought so...so when you aim it you leave it in a similar level that it wuold be if you had the headlights actually on...do you level it without the cover on?

Yea I didn't realize it was the 02-03 headlights until I went to the first post to see pics. I might just end up buying my retros and gettin one for my mom's 02-03 as well. Who knows?

sorry to bring up an old thread. Will my old Ballast for D2R bulbs work with the D2S bulbs? or when I buy D2S bulbs do i have to get a new ballast that goes along with the D2S bulbs? Thanks

Yes, it'll work. The stock ballast will support both D2R and D2S. Shiet. Its been the longest since i've been on here, but I'm selling my car soon. The projectors are staying with me. I'm trying to put the headlights back to stock. Which means I need a new set of headlights, or, buy the reflecting bowl and call it a day.

Hey thanks for the info on the bulbs. One more question, how did you get the back cover back on? The cover I am taking about is the on with the star security screw, the one that holds the igniter. Did you have to mod the old one or did you have to buy a new one? If you had to buy a new one, what did you buy and where did you buy it from? How important is this cover? Can I live without this cover or not having this cover cause lots of problems?

Thanks again for your help.

all work is custom. you can get a retrofitting service to do it for you but it will cost $750-1000 depending on what you ask for.

Pooh.. that heineken was nice, but it didn't hold up for me. I decided to go with another shroud. I'll post pics up later..

King...here you go, reflector not painted...

I wanted to do mine like this, but it was soooooo hard to find something like that shroud.
Sorry to revive a very dead thread, doing a retrofit and I'm trying to find shrouds similar to the first pic. I spoke with the guy at custom lightz who did this retrofit and he said as set of these shrouds is $75 I'm not about to spend that much for shrouds. I'd prefer to spend $40 at max, does anyone know of a similar shroud to these that would fit over FX projectors?
