Disabling headlight reminder

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to disable to headlight beep? The other night I was getting out of my car and "Ding dong ding dong." I get back into my car and what do I hear? "Ding dong ding dong." The headlights go off themseleves anyway so why do I need the ding? The other thing I hate about our ding is that whimpy sound it makes. Its almost saying "umm excuse me? could you please turn off your headlights." Where as other cars are more of "Turn off your headlights NOW!!!"

So has anyone disabled the alarm?

does it really bother you THAT much?.. why not just go through the HUGE hassle of turning them off?..

If its something as simple as pulling a wire I will do it. If I have to remove the whole dash and make a day project out of it than no. I mean Acura put the auto light feature on there to be used why not use it?

I was just looking at it and couldn't find anything.

A quick fix -- somehow hold down (maybe electric tape) the little thing that comes out when the door is open.. I'll try and get a pic.

doesnt he want to disable the chime and not whatever is triggered when the drivers door is opened?.. wouldnt that affect the dome light, courtesy light and possibly alarm issues?

The chime is what's triggered when the door is open. The diagram is from the lighting section.

i realize that.. but if you just completely disable the door pin switch, it will disable anything that is triggered by that switch..

Open the door, remove the door switch that is covered with the black rubber, disconnect the wire and no more ding dong. I rework this switch so I can listen to music with the door open, same for headlight.

This website is the best; i ask a question and everyone trys to help.

Anyway so if I disconnect the sensor for the door I do not think that will work. I think it would disable the chime but it would also disable the auto off feature. Am I wrong in this thinking?

I would think it would still try and turn off the headlights. If anything, it would still turn them off with the door open b/c it would think the door is shut. These are just my guesses as I don't know how the system actually works.
