difference between single beam HID and Bi-Xenon HID?
Hey guys!~
I'm looking at getting a HID kit for my 02 TL. I was wondering if someone would be able to help me out and tell me the difference between a single beam HID kit and a Bi-Xenon HID kit.
Thanks =)

I'm a thrill seeker in my
Your tl already has stock d2r hid headlights. Now if your stock setup is still working fine there is no reason for you to buy a new kit. If you'd like to change the color of your lights, then invest in some new bulbs. When deciding on a bulb color it's probably a good idea not to go past 6K. Bi-xenon hids simply mean that both your low and high beams are hids. Our generation of tl's has simple halogen bulbs for high beams, while the low beams are the hids.
p.s. There is no such color as lava grey for the tl....As far as I know there's satin silver metallic and anthracite grey metallic...

LGM Laguna Green Metallic looks dark to light grey and some bits of green at the right angles
If you need new bulbs- Kaixen are well liked replacements- see vendor Excelerate for them $109 for a pair- shipped- great deal
5000K has more blue than stock but still lots of white on the ground
6000K has even more blue and little white- good for those with poor night vision as it lights up road markings and signs from a great distance

Some cars with halogen headlights (eg: 9004) have two filaments - one for highbeams and one for lowbeams - within a single bulb. when people get aftermarket HID kits for halogens, single beam HIDs only have an HID bulb for lowbeams and lose the functionality of the highbeams, although some have a small halogen bulb with the HID bulb. The "bi-Xenons" have a solenoid that moves the HID bulb between the low and high beam positions so the reflector changes the beam pattern.
With that said, the TL already has a single beam D2R HID bulb so no need for a kit. Upgrade the D2R bulbs to a different color if you want. If you wanna upgrade your fogs to HIDs, you'll want a single beam 9006 HID conversion kit.
