You can't powerslide a FWD car. I've gotten the rear to kick out on my TL and it's about the easiest to control and the most boring car I've ever slid. Don't be too proud about catching the slide (assuming it was oversteer, not understeer) in a TL. It doesn't get any easier than that. Do you actually know how to control understeer/oversteer with throttle on a FWD or did you just pull the ebrake and turn the wheel a little? Try hanging the tail out on an older 911 turbo then you can brag.

i spin tire in my truck all the time, but its usually at night when theres no one else around. empty parking lots are good for dicking around like that too, atleast then its a somewhat closed course with less danger.

hard to lose control with a FWD car on dry pavement unless you're trying something to look cool....

Oh yes because "ricers" are the only one doing this Im sorry People have been doing this far before there were any Japanese made cars in this country. Its not new, Come up here. You will see more IDIOTS in camaros and mustangs doing stuff like that than imports. And like he stated, there was no one around. Yes it would be safer to do at a auto x (im a big fan of it and other events) but there is no need for continued bashing of him.

Skidding on a public road around a turn is pointless and proves nothing at all. Wow he didn't crash CONGRATS.

i did a powerslide once when i had my TL, someone changed lanes into me on the freeway and i jerked the wheel and lost control like an idiot....i was sliding sideways at 70mph on a busy freeway and for some whacked out reason, no one hit me and i didn't die.

Grip > Drift

Power sliding and drifting are not the same thing. Similar, but not the same. One will result in slower track times.

First of all, if there was no one around, more power to him. I've had at least a 12 second car since I was 17 so I've done some dumb stuff but luckily learned from it. My problem was that there is no such thing as "powersliding" a FWD car and second the TL is about the easiest car to control. If it gets away from you, you should turn in your license.

I'm sorry to say, ricers are usually the ones doing dumb stuff in rush hour traffic. Before The Fast and the Furious came out we were allowed to street race on old farm roads with only one entrance/exit. The cops might come and tell us we shouldn't be doing that and then leave and we kept racing. Then the import invasion happens and families start dying on their drive home on crowded streets. The cops crack down on all street "racing" as they should, and we have to suffer.

I look at the crowd of people I hang out with and number of wrecks. It includes my bottom 10 second car, a friend's low 11 second Viper, and many fast cars. Somehow I have never had a wreck and neither have my friends since I've known them but somehow these modded 16 second Civic DXs seem to be getting smashed up every day. It's not right to group all import people together but when the shoe fits 95% of the time...

I couldn't agree more with Fsttyms1, no one is perfect, we have all done stupid things at some point in our life. Granted everyone is entitled to their opinion but don't lecture the guy like your his father. There will always be people who don't make wise decisions no matter what you say or do, just the world we live in. Doing 100 in traffic through a construction zone is not a wise decision, doing 100 on a deserted back road is not wise either but more sensible, a lesser of two evils.

I agree. I streetrace (not the TL) but only do it on back roads with no traffic but I will be the first to raise hell when I see two people weaving in and out of traffic "racing" each other. I could not live with myself if I killed someone to prove who's car is faster.

im just speaking my mind. and like you said if you have nothing nice to say keep your mouth shut. dont praise him and then turn around and tell us that we are dumb for voiceing our opinion. maybe its you that should SHUT THE FUCK UP. sorry if i dont treat my car like a piece of shit. you can do what you want with your car and so can he. if he wrecks it the next time he tries to power slid ( its a tl not a Z) i dont wanna hear him bitching how he doesnt have a car and asking for our opinions on what he should do. youd think very differently if that was a rode your family always drove on. thank god he lives in a different state

yes you are right but its like if i were to come on here bragging bout doing something not so responsible and expect to get nothing but praises. i do agree that its his car and he can do what he wants but if he wouldnt have saved it then what would have happened. bent frame, possible damage to himself or passenger. all im saying is that you need to be a bit more cautious when your out there feeling ballsy
