Did I get a good deal?

OK, I just bought my TL about 3 weeks ago....some people said I got an awesome deal, some said its OK. I personally think it was an awesome deal....

Acura of Brookfield:

2003 TL-P Anthracite/Black...everything but navi
51,000 miles
Certified 6/100 powertrain.
Very clean.

Asking $23,995
Sale $19,995

Talked them down to $18,200
Added 6/100 bumper to bumper ($865)
Downpayment $865

Total, out the door with TTL: $19,600 roughly!

What do you guys think?

Johnny, there will always be idiots out there that hate on you for what you have. As far as I can see, you are 21 and you have an S2000 (which is a wonderful machine) and a fairly new TL, so of course there will be people out there trying to bring down your happiness and success. Just enjoy your new ride, it seems like you are very happy with it, and don't worry about what others have to say. With that said, welcome to the TL family, and start modding if you can!

when i was looking for a TL in phx... i went to pinnacle nissan and it was a 02' TLS 77k miles... sticker price was 22k, they had internet special for $16,400 but talked them down to 13,700 out the door. i think that was an awesome deal but the dealer did me wrong... we were doin the paper work and the manager came out and changed the price, he added an extra 2500 in taxes. i was pissed!! so we left and couple days later, the dealer called and wanted to give it to us the price we wanted out the door, but by that time, i bought an 00' TL WDP... i should have waited!! still kickin myself in the ass for that

Johnny-

Do you realize we have the same color cars?

My NSX and your S2k are Sebring Silver. Different interiors though, my black versus your red.

Now you buy an Anthracite/Black TL? I have an Anthracite/Ebony TL.

We'll have to do a little photo shoot next summer, of the anthracite/sebring hotness.

Wednesday night is dead until 2005 as far as I can tell. Nobody showed the last two weeks when I drove by.

This will have to tide you over until Spring. I brought the TL out on a Wednesday night when the NSX was having wheel problems:

Got any pics of your new TL?

I expect I will sell them at some point. The car is leased, and I own the wheels, so if I ever get rid of the car, the wheels probably won't go with it. I'll try to remember to give you first crack at them, but it might not be for a few years. Who knows, if things go well I may be moving up to an M5 and a beater/winter car in a year or two.

They are nice looking wheels, particularly with an Anthracite exterior. They match perfectly.

I would have gotten a Type S if I were to invest in a 02-03 again which I'm not because I'm waiting for the next gen is300 next year!

Yeah, the wheels I have from my S2 are the exact color of the car....17x7.5, gunmetal, split 6 spoke. I would need to get tires for them though, and the offsets are OK, but not factory. They dont fit on my S anymore since I got it lowered, so Im either gonna sell them, or keep them and put them on the TL in summer.

I wanted the Type-S was well but didn't want another high payment. I bought my pearl white 2000 TL on March 22nd. It was an off-lease bought at the Orlando auction originally from PA--had 36k on it and the certified inspection. I paid more than I wanted but needed a car b/c mine was totalled and I got a check from the insurance co. I paid $16,500 + tax, tag, license. Dealer had 18,990 on it. I bought it w/o the certified 7/100 powertrain warranty. If you think about it....my tranny is warrantied until 7/100 so why pay $500 for an engine only warranty that doesn't cover components? Plus I got most of the certification since it already had the 30k svc. and 150 pt. inspection. I wanted to pay 14.5-15 for the car b/c I've got an uncle in the car bus., but couldn't find a good one at wholesale. I didn't finance it or buy any extra warranties...boy did I piss off the F&I guy! ....but w/ a dealer you can only do so much price wise, especially Acura, we've all discussed how many dealers are stuck up and don't care. They don't budge on alot of things.

that's awesome. I just bought a 2003 3.2 TL-P black on black for 20k. it only had 25k miles and has a little rock chips in front, so we got about the same deal but i like the antrachite better.

I don't know, I sold my TL-S for $20,500 with 37k on it, OEM kit and WW spoiler. Oh it was beat on pretty bad though. Oh wait, I didn't have the extended warranty on it either so I guess you did get a deal.
