Debadging Question A C U R A Letters alignment

I wanna remove the A C U R A lettering from my trunk on Thurs. I just need a few suggestions on how to somehow make a template so that I can put the letters back on perfectly the way it was when I removed it, in the future for whatever reason. I know if you buy the lettering from the Dealer, it comes with a sticker backing.

My idea was to use Playdough from Toys'r'us and press it up against all the letters and then remove and let solidify to make a template. If u guys have ne other ideas please suggest.

Don't worry about the spacing. Like you said, the letters are on a backing strip so the letter spacing is taken care of. The strip has a notch where the center is so that's taken care of. The only thing you have to worry about is making sure the letters are level and the proper height. I've noticed that basically the letters are in line with the reflector in the tail lights. When you want to apply the letters, use masking tape to lay out the level, height and center and you'll do fine. Since the letters are the same width, the "U" in ACURA should be right in the center under the "A" badge. With INSPIRE, the "P" should look like it's just right of the center of the "H" badge, that's where the center notch is on it's backing strip.

I've seen a poorly done lettering job on a TL. The backing strip was not leveled properly so the letters came out skewed, high on the left, low on the right.

Just use a ruler and measure how far the "ACURA" lettering is from your tail lights..how far they are from one another..how far it's from the emblem...and how far it's from the bottom trunk lining.

Or, just debadge the "3.2TL" LD

Just buy a new set from Tim, it cost like 35 dollars shipped. They come aligned and taped. 1888RAYLAKS
