Dealers and Loaners

If you purchase a car from Dealer A, but bring the car to Dealer B for a recall, do they give a you a loaner ? I was just told they won't because I didn't buy the car from Dealer B. Is this BS ? Hit or miss with whichever dealer ?

I guess it depends on the dealership. More than likely, other dealerships must hate having to remedy a problem with a car that someone else sold you know. I work at one, I know what goes on behind the scenes, and it ain't pretty.

yea, depends on the dealership. that's what defines the good from the bad. the really nice, good ones will take it and treat you like you were their customer from begining.

Hmmm....having second thoughts on which dealer to take it to. Did a few searches and have mixed results on the Rallye dealer on LI. Saw a few that said they were treated well and that they bought the car from them. Others said they weren't and didn't buy from them. So I'm thinking of going back to Valley Stream, where I bought it from. Although, Rallye is a closer drive. This is for the oil jet.
keep 'em coming if anyone has 2 cents to throw in.
Thanx for the responses.

Out of courtesy if its a recall the dealer should give u a loaner, i bought my car at a honda dealer and when i bring it to acura for warranty stuff i get a loaner if the car is gone for a while, the oil jet takes no more than 2 hours if your tranny is good so u might not be eligable for a loaner. if you need a tranny replaced and they still wont give u a loaner u can complain about them to acura client services, then pay for the rental car on your own and acura direct will reimburse you. good luck

Acura's TLC Warranty provides for a loaner car no matter which Acura dealer you take your car to. (at least the last time I checked it). Read the TLC info that came with your car.
